Just a small reminder. Ramadan 2021 is just about 55 days away. In the last 7 months. Donations have been down a lot. Compared to what they used to be. So we hope you increase in charity this Ramadan. Whether this is due to Coronavirus. So people are less at work and have less money to give out. Or whether the situation in Syria is a little more confusing lately with ceasfires and deals and other political things happening. Or sometimes unfortunately people see extra bombing and extra suffering on the news. So they feel extra sad and want to send extra help because they see problems occurring. And they assume if nothing big is happening that everyone is back on their feet and not in need. And some people have just become de sensitized. Where so much news has come out of syria in 10 years. That its become a normal thing to see people killed and poor people without food. That it became just a news feed story we simply scroll passed and we dont feel that shock we had before. And some people dislike constantly being reminded to give their money away to others. And they say ill give when i feel like it. I dont like people always asking me. Yet a year passes and this person doesnt send a dollar. Whatever the case is. We just want to explain to people. Although things might be quiet. And we say alhamdulillah for that. Because we hope our brothers and sisters can live freely and not get bombed. But the reality is. The war has not ended. People are on the edge just waiting in Fear for the next big attack. Everyday in idlib city there is drones and war planes circling around. And everyday we hear new stories from the poor people we deal with. Asking us for help. For even simple things like bread. Yet we say to them donations arent coming in like before. So forgive us, but what can we give you.? As our work is based on donations. If we dont receive anything. Then we have nothing to give. We ask the ummah to think deeply about what happened here in the last 10 years. And regardless if things went quiet now or things stop completely for a while. Do you think the situation here will just become perfect overnight?. Millions of people are displaced. Living in refugee camps in makeshift tents. Reports of 2 million + people have been killed. Thousands of people have been injured. The economy of syria has fallen and the jobs have been lost. Yet the prices have risen in almost everything. Syria is listed as one of the top countries where people live below the poverty line. And this is just to name a few problems and i tried hard to keep this short. And without mentioning many many many hadith to remind you about what your role should be in situations like this. I have chosen only one. So with only 55 days left until the start of Ramadan insh'Allah. Will we take the example of our Prophet saws ? Ibn 'Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah, (saws) was the most generous of people in giving charity. He was even more generous in Ramadan. When Jibril used to meet him. Every night of Ramadan Jibril used to come to him and the Messenger of Allah, would read the Qur'an to him. When Jibril came to him, the Messenger of Allah, was more generous in giving charity than the blowing wind." "Alhamdulillah, We, the wives and all the kids of Bilal Abdul Kareem were able to visit him on Monday. After a long wait of almost 5 months... We were able to spend some time with him. Unfortunately due to it being such a long time, his youngest daughter, who is now 8 months old, did not recognize him, when he was arrested she was only 4 months old! The children were very happy to see him and so were his wives and of course Bilal himself! The hardship we have been through has taught us to appreciate what we have Alhamdulillah. We still do not know how long he will be in prison for. And we still do not know much about the conditions in the prison, or the condition of other prisoners, however due to his mental strength we know he will be fine. Please continue to make dua for him and his release as soon as possible In sha Allah. We hope this oppurtunity of visiting loved ones in prisons can be given to all prisoners. We and Bilal believe that all prisoners and their families have the right to see eachother in the duration of their prison sentence.
