Watercolor Studies: Koda in Riomaggiore (4/20) Riomaggiore was my absolute favorite from all the villages of Cinque Terre, all five are wonderful but if I had to make a top favorites, this one would be on my number 1. Labyrinthine, narrow, mysterious, where you turned corners and arrived at impressive and unexpected places, streets were only stairs, going up and down, suddenly the streets were tunnels that passed under the mountains, and suddenly you arrived at a beach. I chose many spots from Riomaggiore that you may see on upcoming days. And here you can see Koda, the wah, walking the narrow streets of Riomaggiore, with the ocean on the background.

Watercolor Studies: Ronin and Traxus in Vernazza (3/20) Vernazza, Italy! Very warm, excellent seafood, beautiful village and first time I experienced a bunch of tourists behind me while painting. I turned into a tourist atraction, something I was not expecting at all, my idea of doing these pieces was something very calm and peaceful: just me, my painting and the landscape in front of me. I'm too shy to start receiving compliments, or that suddenly people ask me questions about what I am doing. I got used to it and at the very end of my painting another artist started talking with me and got a very nice conversation. Many paintings later I learned that was going to be a constant and I needed to accept it, I was already on it and I wasn't going to let my shyness win. Also got this very beautiful spot with a boat in front of me. But again it was a race against the sun that was changing completely the lighting faster than I was expecting. And in his scene you can see Traxus, who is very interested in fish, and there were plenty of them. Next to him is Ronin, sharing with him a nice boat ride. This, moments before Traxus decides to jump in the water to catch a fish, turning the boat upside down.

Watercolor Studies: Adam in Via dell'Amore (2/20) Walking across Via dell'Amore, a path that connects Manarola and Riomaggiore, in Italy Something I appreciate at being solitary, I could take my time on spots nobody would be there for hours, suddenly I was over the sun for around 2 hours painting this (I took an umbrella with me), also it was a very nice week to talk with myself and have very interesting thoughts about life, my past and my future. This was during my first day doing these paintings, those two first days were the most productive, but I need to confess that, this, being my second painting I was doing, I got to think "what am I doing?", first of all because it is too difficult to start, it is not the same to use a photograph as reference than something in real life, you need to think what you want to put inside the frame and how the composition will be, but also things change a lot in very few minutes. A shade on the tree that I thought it was so interesting in first place, in some few minutes is gone, then I learned that it was not about copying, but about interpretating what I was seeing, colors shouldn't be exact and after all it was my painting so I had complete freedom to move elements and change colors in order to make it my own. And that fox was definitely not over that tree, that would be so dangerous, I could imagine his mom almost had a heart attack when she saw him, and once down the tree, she started scolding him. Watercolor Studies: Lufis in Manarola (1/20) A dream trip I had in mind for so long, finally was possible this year. Encouraged after a crisis I got to live during this year, I started appreciating life in a different perspective, because if we have plans and there is actually nothing that can stop us, other than fear, insecurities and anxieties, then let's shake those all and actually do them! We are going to be for very few time in this world and we need to live, to inspire, to keep creating, to keep loving. One of my goals around this trip was to sit down and make watercolor paintings, studies of lighting, color, composition, but not after pictures, but from real life. Last time I had been in Italy, as vacations with some friends, I thought it was a very inspiring place, it has excelent food, beautiful towns and landscapes, and very interesting people. So I returned again but completely solitary, master of my own time and making my plans at my own pace. I decided to start in Cinque Terre, a group of five villages in the coast; I had never been there before, but I had seen pictures and videos about those places. I'm not really a rich person to afford a trip like that just out of the blue, so I had to take commissions where I would include characters inside my studies (I also love to include characters on backgrounds, I couldn't just paint backgrounds). These bunch of commissions helped me to fund this trip, and I can't be more grateful to have this chance. I got to live a lot of adventures during this trip, I've been writing a big journal about the journey. But I can be talking about it on each painting I submit during this month. On upcoming dates I'm gonna start spamming these paintings I did during the trip. This first one is in Manarola, Italy. The village where I stayed in Cinque Terre. Two cryptids outside an abandoned gas station near the swamp. I like the idea that maybe the world feels a little less lonely when you finally meet someone just as strange as you are. You go for a peaceful walk through a national park and suddenly you run into Sasquatch asking you for directions. Swampy Monster has improved his swamp over the years, to the point of transforming it into a very cute garden, a good welcoming for whoever wants to be his friends. Collab art with Marci McAdam, a big honor to work with her on this beautiful project. We got this idea together, she sketched most of the drawing, I added some extra details and colored the scene. While in Nynäshamn, Sweden, we had no idea what to do interesting in there, so after a research on Trip Advisor, we saw it existed a Paddan statue (toad) with only one poor review, but we thought it was a good idea to take the quest to find that statue and rate it ourselves. After so many distractions (side quests), including the hunt of an ice cream truck which music we could hear in the distance (successfully achieved). But after walking for some hours and many kilometers, we got to see the smallest bronze statue ever of a toad in the middle of a dried fountain in a very small plaza where locals were walking around, but we started cheering for the great success of our big adventure, getting our quest achieved. We also noticed our great toad sculpture was not even listed in Google Maps (reason why it was especially hard to find in first place), so we decided to include it and properly rate it. A watercolor piece painted live, beside a small pond filled with turtles. There are certain places that quietly change meaning forever after a single day. Places that suddenly become tied to memory and the feeling of wanting to hold onto a moment for just a little longer. This piece carries a very important date for me. And turtles were meaningful in my family. And happy birthday for the one who was the best dad in the world! This piece will be exhibited in the Anthrocon's Art Show.

An alebrije for Jazzy, a gift from Trax and me. Alebrijes are colorful Mexican folk art creatures handcrafted by artisans, traditionally from Oaxaca, often mixing different animals into a single magical being. I provided them a drawing by me as reference, but I asked the artisans to freely reinterpret it in their own style and traditions. The result was absolutely charming.

French authorities are investigating the disappearance of the Raccoona Lisa. They said there was a masked fellow last seen carrying a painting-shaped frame. This guy is Buckle the beaver, I really enjoyed drawing this guy, as soon as I saw his reference I couldn’t help but saying “awww” The last drawing I worked on the artists alley during Furlandia 2026 Traditional. Pencil.

Since France ’98, I’ve followed every World Cup, and of course one of my biggest obsessions has always been the mascots. These are the mascots of this year’s tournament, hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the USA. It’s probably the only World Cup I’ll ever see hosted by my own country. Mexico is actually setting a record by becoming the first nation to host the tournament three times, which makes it even more special. Ironically, while the World Cup is taking place in Mexico (and across North America), I’m currently traveling abroad. Still, I’ll be following the matches from afar, just as excited as ever.
