Many times college kids asking me what should I do? My parents are forcing me to do this. To be honest my parents were adamant on me pursuing an MBA, especially my mom. But you need to understand where your parents are coming from. And here's the story of my mom wanting me to do an MBA During the initial years of her medical career, my mom struggled to grasp the nitty-gritty of finances. She relied on her father to handle her money. Just blindly signing on those dotted lines left a lasting impact on her. This experience is why she wanted to make sure I had a solid grasp of business and finances. The difference in our perspectives on pursuing an MBA came from the fact that, back in her time, it was the best way to gain access to specialized knowledge. With the resources available at the touch of a button, I found immense value in starting my own business and learning on the job. Of course, if the structured environment of a classroom suits your learning style, by all means, go for it. But for me, the primary reason I chose not to take the classroom approach was that, as a hyperactive kid, it simply wasn't my cup of tea.
