DC National Zoology Park Meet Up hosted by MDfurs Date: Saturday, November 11, 2023 12:30 PM Location: 3001 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 Notes: Members must first reserve a free "Entry Pass" in order to gain admission. WALK IN TIME ENDS AT 2:30 ANYONE ARRIVING AFTER WILL NOT BE LET INTO THE PARK While admission may be free parking and food are not so be sure to bring cash and/or cards. Ah....right not everyone is in the MD furs Discord too. MD Furs Hiking and Picnic Meet Up Let's get offline and meet up outside! This meet will begin with a group hike of the Cascade Falls Trail and end with a picnic on the river bank. The trail is a 2.3 mile loop, 321 feet of elevation, and some water crossings (along with the eponymous Cascade Falls!). Swimming is permitted in the river at your own risk. Where: Patapsco State Park, Orange Grove Area - Cascade Falls Trail (Parking lot listed in google maps as "Patapsco Valley State Park-Avalon Area-Orange Grove Parking") When: Sunday July 16th, 9AM - Afternoon. If hiking, meet at the parking lot at 9 AM. If only coming for the picnic, meet at 11:00-ish. No set end time. Rain/Excessive Heat Date: Sunday 25th. Cost: Bring cash for parking - $3/person in vehicle. Carpooling encouraged! Accessibility: The trail is not wheelchair accessible and moderately managed. There is a bathroom by the parking area. No fur left behind! Anybody in the group can call for a break. If you don't want to hike, please join us for the picnic! Can't guarantee picnic tables, so please bring seating just in case. Picnic: Bring your own lunch, although shareables are appreciated. I will bring some snacks, beverages, and water. Bring a blanket or seating of choice. Swimming: Swimming is permitted but is unsupervised, so swim at your own risk. The river bed is rocky, so water shoes are recommended. Fursuiting: Allowed, but not recommended to hike in suit. As a courtesy to the rest of the group, please no excessive stopping for fursuit photos. We will be prioritizing hiking, but feel free to go off and have photoshoots once the hike is completed.

With the Furskate coming up we would like to note a few things. The Rink has changed it's closing time to 9:30pm instead of 10pm, we ask that members be respectful of this and leave as the event ends. Second: unfortunately there will not be any food at this furskate but members are welcome to plan a food meet up prior to or after the Skate. We ask that those who do call ahead for any group of 7 or more.
