| 4 | ππ Solana Activates Alpenglow, Targeting 150ms Transaction Finality
π₯ Solana has officially activated Alpenglow on its mainnet, marking its biggest consensus overhaul since the network launched in 2020.
π Whatβs changing?
βοΈ Faster finality: Targets around 150 milliseconds, down from approximately 12.8 seconds under the previous TowerBFT protocol.
βοΈ New consensus mechanism: Alpenglow introduces Votor, allowing validators to exchange votes directly and reach consensus through fewer voting rounds.
βοΈ Better payment efficiency: Faster transaction finality could improve user experiences across trading, payments, exchanges, and other blockchain applications.
βοΈ More network improvements ahead: Anza is also developing Rotor to improve block-data distribution, while Quantumglow remains a longer-term research proposal for post-quantum security.
π Whatβs next?
The 150ms figure is a performance target, and actual finality times may vary with network conditions. The upgrade is now live, but sustained real-world performance will be important to watch.

| 6 | ππ Switzerland Approves Its First Spot Bitcoin ETF for Retail Investors
π₯ Switzerland has taken a significant step toward expanding regulated access to Bitcoin. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) approved the country's first retail investment fund that invests directly in Bitcoin, marking a new milestone for the European crypto market. π§πΉ
π Introducing BBIT
βοΈ BIT Asset Management AG announced that its Bitcoin Fund ETF, trading under the ticker BBIT, is expected to launch on SIX Swiss Exchange in November 2026.
βοΈ Unlike futures-based products, BBIT will hold Bitcoin directly, allowing investors to gain exposure to BTC through a conventional securities brokerage account without having to manage the cryptocurrency themselves.
π Why It Matters
βοΈ Regulated access: Retail investors can access Bitcoin through a fund operating under Swiss investment fund legislation.
βοΈ A different investment structure: Unlike existing Bitcoin exchange-traded products structured as debt securities, BBIT operates as a Swiss collective investment scheme.
βοΈ Growing institutional interest: FINMA confirmed that other fund providers have also submitted or announced applications for Bitcoin ETFs.
π‘ Investor Protection Remains a Priority
βοΈ FINMA requires supervised institutions to address custody and operational risks, clearly disclose investment risks, and comply with investor suitability requirements. The regulator also warns that Bitcoin remains highly volatile and investors could lose a significant portion of their capital.
π The Bigger Picture
Switzerland's approval highlights the continued development of regulated investment products connecting traditional financial markets with digital assets. With additional Bitcoin ETF applications reportedly in progress, the country's crypto investment landscape could continue to evolve.

| 9 | ππ BlackRock Files for Bitcoin ETF Designed to Limit Losses
π₯ BlackRock has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to register the iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF (PBIT), a proposed fund designed to offer Bitcoin exposure while providing a degree of downside protection.
π‘ How does PBIT work?
βοΈ Partial downside protection: The fundβs options strategy typically targets an initial loss limit of approximately 10% for each tranche, before fees and expenses. This protection is conditional and may change with market movements.
βοΈ Capped upside: Investors would sacrifice some potential gains in exchange for downside protection. If the underlying asset rises above the optionsβ upper limit, additional gains would not be fully captured.
βοΈ No direct Bitcoin holdings: PBIT would use options linked to BlackRockβs iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) or similar Bitcoin exposure, alongside cash and fixed-income investments.
π Why it matters
BlackRockβs filing signals continued innovation in Bitcoin investment products, targeting investors seeking crypto exposure with a structured approach to managing risk.
The filing follows the launch of its iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (BITA) in June 2026. Meanwhile, IBIT has accumulated more than $65 billion in assets under management, reinforcing its position as the largest U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF.
π΄ Important: PBIT is a proposed product, not an approved or launched ETF. The protection is not guaranteed, and investors could still lose some or all of their investment.

π₯ Circle is defending its business model as rival stablecoins compete for distribution partners with more attractive revenue-sharing deals.
π° Where does the money go?
In the first half of 2026, Circle generated around $1.4 billion in revenue, but retained only about 7% as net profit.
βοΈ $819 million went to distribution partners and transaction costs.
βοΈ $473 million covered operations, compliance, infrastructure and product development.
π€ Competition Is Heating Up
Newcomers such as OUSD and Paxos-backed USDG are exploring models that share more reserve income with ecosystem partners. Circle argues that lower fees alone cannot replace the infrastructure, liquidity and regulatory compliance needed to operate a reliable stablecoin.
π Expanding Beyond Existing Markets
Circle also plans to expand into approximately 40 emerging and developing markets, aiming to increase USDC adoption for digital payments and access to the US dollar.
π The Bigger Picture
The stablecoin race is no longer just about market share. Distribution networks, operational reliability and revenue-sharing strategies could determine which issuers win the next stage of adoption.

π₯ The European Union has officially classified Circleβs USDC as its first βsignificant e-money tokenβ under the MiCA framework, marking another major milestone in the regulation of the stablecoin market.
π What You Need to Know:
