BLACK MAGICā ARCHETYPE: PROFESSOR MARVEL
It's early in Dorothy's story, and she inmediately meets kindly wizard. (How odd)! He charms her, pushes all the right buttons, hits all the right emotional notes that appeal to her current awareness, and gives what must seem to her a masterful performance. But despite his undeniable charisma, we are not meant to really like or trust this man. We see through him though a young, naĆÆve Dorothy cannot.
What gives him away as a phony? Maybe it's the over-the-top sideshow voice he affects. Or the silly crystal ball getup he puts on for our heroine. Maybe it's the utterly predictable "vision" he gives her.
It's all of these things, but there's something else too. We're still in black-and-white at this stage, and the "Professor" is part of that! Dorothy is on a quest and he's trying to send her back into the gray world. That's what we're truly reulsed by.
The chances are if we meet him, our quest has already begun. Don't worry though - fate won't let us take his advice.
Nonetheless, we must press on. To quit would be to abandon our parents, our children, and our ancestors.
We involved ourselves in the political theatre, and the world remained unchanged for all our efforts. We took up radical ideology, radical religion, radical everything. Even our food was politicized for a while. It did nothing. The system didn't budge, and we became despondent. Militant even. Still, the system marched on as if unopposed.
But when we took up the spiritual path, the only path that matters, we acknowledged something that our past efforts didn't nourish: our connection to the Whole, our place in a living, conscious ecosystem. We resolved to strengthen that connection and elevate our consciousness, and by that connection, elevate the consciousness of the Whole, and everyone in it.
And by that realization, we became apprenticed into the only profession that matters, the business of spiritual unfoldment. Our service to ourselves, our Folk, to the world and to the entire universe, is to evolve.
Remember when we all thought "redpill the normies" was the thing to do? That was neat.
There was a time not all that long ago, when the world was prepared to receive truth, or at least the parts of it that we ourselves had obtained and could articulate. We were gaining ground, and were energized.
It seemed a new era was dawning; it was, but not in the way we imagined. The air changed; many slunk away from us in fear. We discovered hostiles among our friends and families, relationships that had to end. The more we spoke truth, the fewer heard it. The system fought back, and we became outcasts.
We can't "redpill the normies" because in their true form, in the depths of their being, a normie can't be redpilled. A true normie isn't a real, rational being, but a biological computer, a minister of the system that sees and hears only what the system allows. Literal phantoms, going in and out of existence in our dreams have more agency.
The only struggle that even starts making a difference, is the spiritual one.
Abrahamic religions have a built-in survival mechanism in the occurrence of The Devil. Regardless of their level of understanding, all seem to understand that they need him somehow. So he appears.
One loves to hate this figure, but one NEEDS to have somewhere to go with the evil within oneself - the maladaptive tendencies that lead to extinction need to be explained. Without his nefarious presence, evil would still exist - a mind removed from nature just wouldn't be able to see it.
We have no such figure organic to our worldview. On a deep evolutionary level, are not removed from nature. We see maladaptivity for what it is, and purge it instinctively from our midst, being closer to our instincts.
Even the Devil himself knows that he does not exist, for if God is light, life and being, then he must be unlight, unlife, and unbeing. Nonetheless, he occurs in our mythic memory from a time when nature was taken from us.
Multicultural city-sprawls need their Devil, and there he will emerge to fill that demand.

Likely, before the inner light emerges, we will be presented with visions. It shouldn't surprise us if we see geometric patterns playing out across the backs of our eyelids, or even if they become extremely vivid scenes from other times and places. While these light shows are the result of electrical activity in the brain, we may yet find we surprise ourselves with the depth of intuition that can be gained from these light sequences.
If the goal of our meditation is merely to experience visions, then we are exploring the lower realms. We can lie on our backs, sink into a chair, listen to ambient music (especially shamanic drumming), bring ourselves as close to the hypnogogic state as possible without falling entirely into sleep, and plumb the depths of the subconscious.
We can gain some insight from exploring the lower worlds; just don't call it Yoga.
The purpose of Yoga is superconsciousness, not subconsciousness. We must look past these emanations, in order to reach their Source.
If you are bound to craft the ring of rings, you must pump the bellows steadily no matter how hard the fly bites.
Conscious control of the breath (the bellows) is key to crafting Draupnir, which is to say, making the astral light visible to the third eye. When the meditator has achieved a deep level of inner calm through faithful adherence to the prerequisite practices and repetition of rhythmic controlled breathing, a breathless state emerges in which the inner light appears as a fiele of blue encircled by a ring of gold. At this stage, the meditator ceases his breathing technique and relinquishes conscious control of the breath, to focus singularly on this light.
The fly, Loki, represents distraction. Anything that drives the practitioner away from the Path. If you ever want to meet Loki, try to achieve a meditative stillness - he will make himself known inside of thirty seconds.

This is the PIE root meaning Might, Capability, from which we derive both Magic and Mechanism.
There is no supernatural. Magic is a natural process, neither good nor evil, but the way you employ it makes you move either toward lower or higher levels of attainment.
Your Mechanism for accomplishing your Magic, while you reside here in Midgard, is the chemical apparatus of your body. It is neither good nor evil, but the way you use it will either cause you to Evolve or Involve; Ascend or Descend; Raise or Raise or Lower the frequency of yourself and your environment.
Here in Midgard, where is the higher and lower frequencies touch is where the Mechanism is used to accomplish the Magic. Nowhere else. This is why higher and lower forces compete for your attention.
It's time to stop messing around and get to work while we still have bodies to do the work with. We only have a limited time to do the work, before we have to go to sea in the ship we've built. Hopefully we will have made a good, strong one.

Consciousness expanding exercise: how to hack advertisements.
Here is a trick to help train your mind for a meditation practice. This is to help develop the awareness of nonduality between yourself and your environment, a crucial component of meditation. If you have a divinatory practice, this may help further those skills as well.
The chances are you pass a lot of billboards in your travels, many of them quite obnoxiously effective at directing your flow of consciousness toward their desired behaviors. You should think of these as the spells they are, designed with your phisiolkgy in mind.
When you pass these advertisements, practice allowing yourself to see the images only - not text! This may take some willpower, as the chances are you don't usually notice how they influence your linear thought patterns. If you catch yourself starting to read text, look away immediately.
Try this for about a week and note any changes to your mood, energy level, dream awareness, or the frequency of serendipitous events.

We're supposed to sit here and pretend these are the same people who produced the Vedas, Upanishads and Yoga Sutras. (X to doubt).
Black Magicā archetype: Saruman of Many Colors.
Gandalf's nemesis, Saruman the White, represents the false teacher, the destroyer posing as reformer, the ruthless agent of the system who poses as an enlightened master to gain influence over the hreatest number of people possible. This malefactor always attempts to make his message seem appealing to the lower sensibilities of unrefined intellects, and it is critical to his success that those intellects remain unrefined.
Saruman's adoption of rainbow-patterned robes, a detail that regrettably didn't make it into the films, exemplifies evil's tendency to disguise its true ugliness under a sensationally stimulating facade. The fact that it's a rainbow was bit of prophetic genius on Tolkien's part, perhaps.
His spell cannot be broken by a Gray Magician, even if his intentions are sincere. Only a true Mystic who has undergone the radical transformation, and whose function is to raise the vibration of all sentient life, can stand up to the rainbow wizard and win.
What then is a "Gray" Magician? That broad line between perfect spiritual clarity and self-decrepifying malice encompasses all phases of all paths, practices, philosophies and ideologies. Whether recognizable "magic" is in their vicabulary or not, this gray category truly includes the vast majority of everyone on Earth.
This is what is meant by "morally problematic." What excuse have we to be aware of perfection yet aim for anything less?
Think of Gandalf and what he symbolizes. He appears in two forms, Grey and White. As the Grey, his vision is toward the greater good, but his efforts are on a much smaller scale, accompanying small troops of adventurers. It isn't until after his Grey self is burned away and recast in his fight with the Balrog, that he appears at the heads of whole armies, conquering the world for the forces of Order. The Wizard is the same, but his frequency has ascended by a whole octave.
Think of a Gray Magician as someone who may side with the Light, but hasn't yet faced their Balrog.
The black/gray/white scale is a problematic metric to use when talking about esoteric practices and magic. It's problematic morally because, on the surface, it invites unclarity in our speech, and with it "creative" moral reasoning - something our ancestors did not honor in the slightest.
It gets even more murky when we factor in "the Black Arts" as having originally referred to alchemy, specifically as taught in antiquity through the mystery traditions of "the Black Land," Kemet, what we call ancient Egypt. (Alchemy; -chem; kem; Kemet. I make no claim either way as to the linguistic validity of that belief).
Alchemy, in an esoteric sense divorced from physical gold production, is not fundamentally different from the Aryan science of Yoga and its cultural equivalents, which we classify under "White" magic.
Most people know exactly what is meant by "Black" magic as it is commonly understood.
That leaves "Gray," which encompasses everything else, including 100% of what's typically identified as "Magic(k)".
Black magicā archetype: the Sith...
Why do we need to talk about evil, black magicians? The answer should occur deep within our conscience almost before the question is formed: because there are so many!
Even though we are progressing, we still live in an age, when for every genuine holy person, there are a hundred profiteers; for every guru a hundred gatekeepers; for every alchemist a thousand sorcerers.
Scarcely a better illustration of the fragmentary spiritualist has emerged than the Sith of Star Wars fame.
The sith always acts behind the scenes, mixing just enough truth with his lies to make his perverse actions seem virtuous.
His relationship with his disciple is predatory, slipping in subtle deceit within a heroic outer layer. He makes grand promises or implies them. In the end the victim overthrows the master, but the damage is done - victim becomes perpetrator.
Want to smoke out today's true black magicians? Look for which other kinds of relationship follow this victim-perpetrator progression.

"These obstacles disrupt the consciousness with pain, depression, restlessness of the body, inhalation and exhalation.
The obstacles are prevented by practice of a single truth."
-Pantanjali, Yoga Sutras, 31-32.
...
Pain and depression arise from distraction of the attention from one's goal to the periphery around the goal. We become fascinated with, and then fixated upon the distractions,
