Para Transpo driver charged with assaulting 'vulnerable' passenger A Para Transpo driver has been charged with sexually assaulting a "vulnerable" passenger, Ottawa police say. The alleged assault occurred Jan. 23, when the driver was transporting a single passenger, police said in a media release Wednesday. He then drove away from the woman's usual route, parked his vehicle and sexually assaulted her, police allege. The incident was reported to police the next day. Aung Thowai, 62, is charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability, police said. He was slated to appear in court Wednesday. Ontario's 'Crypto King' and his associate arrested, charged with fraud Ontario's self-proclaimed Crypto King and one of his associates  have been arrested and charged with fraud. Aiden Pleterski, 25, was charged with fraud over $5,000 and laundering the proceeds of crime on May 2, according to the Oshawa court house. Pleterski's associate, Colin Murphy, 27, has been charged with fraud over $5,000, according to Durham Regional Police.  CBC Toronto has reported extensively on Pleterski since the summer of 2022, when he was forced into bankruptcy by some of his investors. For more than a year and a half now, Pleterski's investors have been trying to track down more than $40 million they gave him to invest in cryptocurrency and foreign exchange. Conditions improve for crews battling Fort Nelson, B.C., wildfire Favourable weather conditions are expected in the area of Fort Nelson, B.C., on Tuesday as the Parker Lake wildfire continues to grow just south of town, fire officials say.  While the fire grew from 53 to 84 square kilometres over the course of Monday, B.C. Ontario to suspend driving licences of convicted auto thieves Premier Doug Ford's government will try to combat record rates of auto theft in Ontario by slapping lengthy driver's licence suspensions on people convicted of the crime. The government will introduce legislation to suspend the driving licences of convicted auto thieves when "aggravating factors" such as violence, threats or the use of a weapon are involved, or when vehicles are stolen for the financial gain of organized crime.
