Wooohooooooo!💪We brought the prize home. Not one but two of them. 🏆 🏆 This year's Annecy is one for the history book as Sunday Morning 🤫 won two prestigious awards at this year's MIFA, Annecy Festival. One from the great The Walt Disney Company (Orion Ross) and another from the French animation author's organization AGrAF (Fabienne Gambrelle). This was our country's 🇪🇹 first ever representation in MIFA and we came back with two wins. Behagerlij is super proud of what God helped us achieve so far and we can't wait for what's ahead. Failing but still trying to take this in. 🤯🙈🤯 Our project Sunday Morning 🤫 has officially been selected for the Mifa Pitches at the Annecy Festival 2026 in the TV Series & Specials category. For anyone in animation, Annecy is the biggest stage in the world. Out of hundreds of projects, ours was selected as one of 14 and the only fully African-developed project in the lineup. Even more emotional, in the festival’s 66-year history, this is the first time Ethiopia is being officially represented this way🇪🇹. One of Behagerlij’s proudest moments. Getting the chance to stand in Annecy and share a story born from our culture, humor, childhoods, and imagination means everything to us. We joined to learn. A year later, everything changed. From day one in the Habesha Creative Lab Acceleration Program, we stepped into a space that challenged how we think, create, and push ideas forward. It wasn’t just training  it was a year of building under pressure, testing ideas, failing forward, and evolving with constant mentorship and feedback. That journey led us to the Createch event, where we stood on stage and won 1st place out of 24 incredible, inspiring studios across two cohorts. This wasn’t a smooth path  it was late nights, experimentation, doubts, breakthroughs, and constant rebuilding. And that’s exactly what made it meaningful. The program didn’t just improve our project  it reshaped how we think, create, and position ourselves in this industry. Grateful to Habesha Creative Lab, Alliance Ethio-Française, the mentors, and every studio that shared this journey with us. To everyone building right now  keep going. The process is the real win.

Just got back from the Mashariki African Film Festival in Kigali. Honoured to see Zarem Arbegna stand among so many bold African stories. Feeling the film resonate in that room was a powerful reminder of the promise of Ethio-Africa cinema. The festival also connected us with incredible creators and collaborators from across the world. Huge thank you to Alliance ethio-française d’Addis Abeba and Habesha Creative Lab for making this journey possible. As an alumnus of the Lab’s first cohort, I’ve seen how their support uplifts our creative industry. And then life added its own scene: at Kigali airport baggage claim, I unexpectedly ran into Tilahun Esmael Kassahun, CEO of ESX. While waiting for our luggage, we had a great conversation on ESX, startups, design, and animation a reminder that meaningful journeys can begin anywhere. Grateful for the films, the fellowship, and the serendipity. Africa’s story is being written, and Behagerlij remains inspired to keep listening and keep telling it.

Behagerlij twins in Lagos🌍✨ Behagerlij recently spent an incredible week in the Création Africa Forum in Lagos, Nigeria thanks to the generous support of the Alliance ethio-française d'Addis Abeba, Embassy of France in Ethiopia 🇪🇹🤝🇫🇷. The forum brought together 44 African countries, represented by their brightest creative minds. Ethiopia's delegation of 11 individuals included leaders from studios like Efuye Gela, Vista Technologies, Qedamawi Studio, Guzo Technologies, ጉዞ ቴክኖሎጂስ, Bazeto Visual Effects, Whiz Kids Workshop, G Media and yours truly Behager lij. 🎬🌟 Thank you all! Major thanks to Valentine Corbel for leading the charge to Lagos and to Sara Antonio DIMARIA and Saron Engidasew Zerihun for seamlessly organizing everything. 🙏🏼 An unforgettable trip! We built a strong network and new partnerships across two continents. But the real win was the camaraderie we found in Ethiopia.
