Anthropic is giving startups a free year of Claude Team, $1,000 in API credits, and up to $45K in partner perks. I applied this morning. Approved in 7 minutes. Team workspace live 30 minutes after my first click. But most posts about it get the details wrong. Here's what I learned going through it: - Apply through the Claude Console (platform.claude.com), not claude.ai. Expect some setup friction: I went through a Persona ID check and a $5 credit top-up along the way. - Getting approved does not mean you have the credits. The $1K is a separate form inside the member portal, and it takes 1-2 business days. Mine still says "In progress". - The credits expire 180 days after they're granted. They only work on Anthropic's own API: not Bedrock, Vertex or Azure, and not your subscription. So request them when you actually have something to run on them. - Team plan: 12 months, up to $625/mo off, up to 5 Premium seats, 2-seat minimum. It only applies if your org has never used Team. It came as a separate approval email with a checkout link 9 minutes after the welcome mail. - The underrated part is weekly office hours with Anthropic's Applied AI team on architecture, evals and cost. Book one. - If you're VC-backed, the welcome email says to ask your VC contact about up to $100K more. The $45K is spread across 16 partner offers. The ones worth claiming: ElevenLabs: 12 months free + 33M characters ClickHouse: $5K cloud credits Linear: 6 months of Business free Hex: 6 months of Enterprise free Granola: 3 months of Business free Firecrawl: 2.5x monthly credits for a year Screening is fast both ways. Some people got rejected within a minute. It's a 10-minute try. claude.com/programs/start…

48 tasks, 4 models, one pattern: everyone's better at looking right than moving right. Visual similarity beats motion consistency 42-46 out of 48 times across the board — the next frontier isn't sharper pixels, it's coherent motion.

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, has a net worth of approximately $1.4 trillion, The second richest person, Larry Page, holds a net worth of around $302 billion. The difference between the two is roughly $1.1 trillion. If you have $1, you are closer to the second richest person in the world than the second richest person is to Elon Musk.

"A large convoy of U.S. Air Force C-17 transport planes is crossing the Atlantic Ocean heading towards the Middle East. The second wave is currently over Europe and moving towards the eastern Mediterranean. These C-17s are transporting troops, heavy weapons, and armored vehicles. This is the largest visible air movement of forces since the start of the war."

Telegram has reached a staggering valuation of approximately $30 billion while maintaining an incredibly lean organizational structure. Founded by Pavel Durov, the company famously operates without a traditional physical headquarters, relying instead on a small, highly efficient core team that works entirely remotely. Despite this minimal staffing, the platform successfully serves over 1 billion monthly active users across the globe. This achievement has turned the company into a primary case study for how modern technology and a focused mission can scale a global communication tool without the overhead of a massive corporate hierarchy. The success of Telegram highlights a significant shift in how tech giants are built in the modern era. It proves that a small group of dedicated experts can challenge industry titans, provided they leverage remote collaboration and high-impact engineering to maintain their global reach.

314 trillion digits of π… on a single machine 🤯 A team from StorageReview just set a new world record, calculating π to 314 trillion decimal places in a nonstop 110-day run — perfectly timed for Pi Day (3/14). What’s wild? They didn’t use a massive cloud setup. Just one Dell PowerEdge server running 24/7 for nearly four months with zero downtime. In reality, science doesn’t even need that many digits — NASA says ~37 is enough to measure the observable universe accurately. So why push further? Because it’s not really about π. These runs are extreme stress tests for modern hardware — pushing processors, memory, and storage to their limits, exposing weaknesses and improving systems used in AI, simulations, and big data. The machine handled insane data flow (~280 GB/s) and still beat previous 300T records with less power and complexity. There’s still no finish line — π never ends, and neither does the race.

A new smartwatch called O-Boy could become a lifesaver for people traveling in the world’s most remote places. Designed by the Brussels-based studio Futurewave, the watch can send distress signals directly to satellites, meaning it works even where there’s no phone network — from mountains to open water. The device acts as a standalone transmitter, giving users a way to call for help far beyond the reach of traditional mobile coverage. Futurewave says the goal was simple: build a smartwatch that can send an emergency alert “even in the most remote corners of the world.” To make this possible, engineers integrated satellite hardware and antennas into a compact wearable. The rugged design is water-resistant, impact-protected and pressure-tolerant, while rounded surfaces keep it comfortable for everyday wear. With its black-and-red emergency color scheme and satellite connectivity, O-Boy aims to improve safety for explorers, remote workers and adventurers far from civilization.

Your voice might be giving away more than you think. A Nov. 19, 2025 study in Proceedings of the IEEE warns AI can extract far more from speech than just the words we say. Beyond emotion or fatigue, computers can analyze tone, cadence and word choice to infer education level, finances, political views — even possible health conditions. The research, led by Tom Bäckström of Aalto University, highlights serious privacy risks. If a corporation can sense your economic situation from your voice, it could open the door to price discrimination, like higher insurance premiums. If emotional vulnerability or personal traits are detectable, it may enable profiling, harassment or stalking. The technology isn’t fully in use yet, but the building blocks already exist. From voicemails to recorded customer service calls, our voices are stored everywhere. Speech tech has real promise — but the question is what it learns about us, and who ultimately controls that information.

In 1993, French adventurer Emile Leray was stranded in the Moroccan desert after his Citroën 2CV snapped an axle far from the nearest village. Instead of waiting for rescue, he dismantled the entire car and spent twelve days converting it into a working motorcycle using only the tools and parts he had with him. The improvised machine carried him back to safety and later became a museum piece. If your car broke down in the desert, would you even know where to start?
