I feel like a teenager. As naive, as insecure, as rootless and route-less, A total brain-wreck of a weirdo, I even sometimes cry looking at the mirror. As I desperately seek his approval, I realize that I must still be a teenager.

Soldiers crawl the city, The river, the town, the village, The bedroom, our kitchen. They eat everything. Or burn it. They kill what they cannot take. They rape. What they cannot kill they take. Rumors fall like rain. Like bombs. Like mother and father tears swallowed for restless peace. Like sunset slanting toward a moonless midnight. Like a seed fallen where there is no chance of trees or anyplace for birds to live. -a poem not written by me.

my heart begs me to write, but how do you write a poem in a time of war?

Why Do People Love You?

Somedays I’m the ocean. Some days I’m the ship. Tonight I’m the lighthouse: at the edge, alone, and burning. -Vasiliki

How long will it be cute All this crying in my room When you can’t blame it on my youth And roll your eyes with affection?

happy pride month humans. do what would make you happy, be whoever you’d want to be. celebrate love.🌈

with birthdays, i generally mourn after what’s gone instead of celebrating what’s to come it seems.
