Google has unveiled the Fitbit Air fitness tracker for $99. It is a lightweight, screenless tracker with a battery life of up to 7 days. The device weighs 12 grams and tracks heart rate, steps, sleep, skin temperature, blood oxygen levels, and heart rate variability. Report: OpenAI working on AI-powered smartphone for 2028 launch
OpenAI is reportedly developing its own smartphone, marking a shift from earlier claims that it wasn’t building a phone.

Liam Price, 23, with no advanced math training, cracked a problem that had stumped experts for decades. He used ChatGPT Pro and got the answer from a single prompt.
AI has been solving “Erdős problems” before, but many weren’t that impressive. This one is different. The problem had resisted serious attempts, and the AI used a completely new method no one had tried.

A big shift is coming — and it won’t stay limited to Europe.
The EU is forcing phone makers to redesign devices. The first phase already started in June 2025: batteries must have longer lifespan, spare parts must be available for years, and repairs can’t be blocked.
From 2027, it goes further: phones must allow users to replace the battery at home using basic tools — no service center needed.
It targets the main reason people upgrade — battery wear. New rules require at least 80% capacity after 800 charge cycles, plus up to 10 years of parts and repair support, extending device lifespan.
And here’s the global twist: brands don’t build separate models for different regions — it’s too expensive.
We already saw it with USB-C. Once Europe sets a rule, it often spreads worldwide.
So even outside Europe, expect phones that last longer, are easier to repair, and don’t force upgrades as often.
