🤲 The Sayyid al-Istighfaar (the best/superior form of seeking forgiveness) اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي ، O Allaah, you are my Lord, لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ ، there is none worthy of worship except You, خَلَقْتَنِي You have created me, وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ، and I am Your slave, وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ and I am upon Your covenant وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ ، and Your binding promise as much as I am able, أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ ، I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have committed, أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ I acknowledge Your Favours upon me وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي ، and I acknowledge my sins, فَاغْفِرْ لِي ، so forgive me, فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ for indeed there is none that forgives sins besides You. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “And whoever says this during the day Mooqin-an (having firm conviction/faith) in it and then dies on that day before the onset of evening then he will be from the people of al-Jannah (Paradise). In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful… The following is a question posed to Shaykh Dr. Arafat bin Hassan al-Muhammadi (may Allah bless and preserve him) on Friday night, the 19th of al-Muharram, 1443 (August 27, 2021): May Allah treat you well, noble shaykh, this questioner says: Does not wearing a mask due to health reasons make it permissible to leave off the Jumu’ah and congregational prayers in the masjid, since these conditions have been stipulated by the Corona Committee in our land, and may Allah reward you with good? The shaykh’s answer: With regards to what the specialists, from the physicians, have confirmed, as well as what the rulers have commanded with and the scholars have spoken with, it is an obligation; it is obligatory to take these precautions and safeguards in order that we may repel this harm which has befallen the people, and has befallen the Muslims. For *There should neither be harm nor reciprocal harm.* It is a must that the masks be worn, because the physicians and specialists have confirmed that they, by the permission of Allāh, (help to) repel this disease on a large scale. So if a person has an excuse preventing him from wearing a mask due to any health reason, as has come within the question, we say: Yes, as long you cannot wear it, then do not attend along with Muslims. Pray in your house so that you can do so (i.e., pray maskless), because this mask is a must, and it is also a must to socially distance; for these precautions, the specialists hold them to be binding, and the reality indicates their benefit. And all this is by the permission of Allāh, the Glorified and High. For they are from (taking) the means (for protection). 🌾 The Importance of Tawheed and The First Commandment and Prohibition In The Qur'an Sheikh AbdulMuhsin (may Allaah preserve him) said: Allaah the Mighty and Majestic says: "O mankind! Worship your Lord (alone), who created you and those before you so that you may become pious. The One who made for you the earth as a stretched out expanse (for provision, settlement and repose) and the sky a ceiling, and who sent down water from the sky and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not set up rivals for Allaah (in worship) while you know (that none deserves to be worshipped but Him alone)." [2:21-22] The Sheikh commented: "These two noble verses contain within them the first commandment and prohibition found in the Qur'aan. They contain within them the loftiest commandment, which is the worship of Allaah alone, and that is in His saying: "Worship your Lord."
