There is no doubt that india is at its growth stage, but I think the most lucrative opporunities in india will be in aerospace and space industry. For Aerospace, the signals are clear: • The component exports reached $7 bn in FY25 a 5x jump from FY20 levels. • As we are observing growing number of airports with Indian airlines making order of 1,700+ aircrafts. • The global industry has a 17,000-aircraft backlog. • Airbus, Boeing and Safran are expanding their sourcing from India, currently at $1.4-1.6bn. • India’s MRO market could nearly double over the next five years. And India has the right ingredients for it Engineering talent, lower manufacturing costs, policy support and a growing base of globally certified suppliers. I am not talking about building aircraft yet, but about the picks and shovels Engine components, precision manufacturing, specialized tooling, certified subassemblies and MRO. Hyderabad is quietly becoming one of India’s most important Aerospace & Defence manufacturing hubs. ✈️🚀 For years, Telangana was synonymous with pharmaceuticals. The latest export numbers tell a different story. In FY26, Telangana’s Aerospace & Defence exports reached ~₹32,850 crore, more than doubling from ~₹15,940 crore in FY24. The sector now contributes 33.4% of Telangana’s total exports, ahead of pharma at ~25% - a first since the state was formed in 2014. But the more interesting part is what is being built behind these numbers. Hyderabad’s A&D ecosystem now spans: → Aircraft structures & aerostructures → Avionics & defence electronics → Aero-engine components & MRO → Missiles & guided weapon systems → UAVs & drones → Precision engineering & advanced manufacturing And global aerospace companies are increasingly becoming part of this supply chain. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Safran, GE Aerospace, Airbus, Tata, Rafael, Elbit and ITP Aero have established manufacturing, engineering or partnership footprints around Hyderabad. Safran alone is developing Hyderabad into a major engine MRO hub, with its LEAP facility planned for up to 300 engine shop visits annually, alongside an M88 MRO facility for the Rafale engine. The value chain is clearly moving: Assembly → Precision manufacturing → Critical components → MRO → Integrated systems → Global supply chains And the ecosystem beneath the large OEMs is expanding too. Telangana now has around 85+ active A&D companies, spanning precision engineering, defence electronics, avionics, UAVs and critical components - adding depth to the local supply chain. With global OEM localisation, defence indigenisation, rising exports and supply-chain diversification converging, Hyderabad is increasingly looking less like a regional manufacturing centre and more like a global node for Aerospace & Defence manufacturing. 🇮🇳
