The Soul that enjoins Evil, and the Soul that is Tranquil
To oppose the soul which inclines towards evil, Allāh makes: the soul tranquil. When the evil inclining soul (nafs al-amārā) urges the person towards evil (sū), Allāh prevents the soul from the sin.
When the soul seeks to prevents the servant from good deeds, Allāh commands him to do the good deed. So there are times were the person sometimes follows one, and at times he follows the other. It may even be the case were one takes control over one other, or even be controlled by one altogether.

"Just as you disobeyed Allah in secret, obey Him more in secret until the sweetness of righteousness enters your heart."

| 4 | Imām Ibn al-Qayyim said:
“It has been experienced that whoever says seven times:
أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
‘Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy,’
Allah will remove his affliction.”

This is the supplication of the Prophet Ayyūb when he called upon Allah during his severe affliction:
أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
“Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.”

| 5 | Shamsuddeen Muhammad bin Abee Bakr Ibn Qayyim aj-Jawzeeyah (d.751 A.H.) -Rahimullaah- said:
‘There are types of medicines which can treat illnesses which the minds of the senior doctors cannot comprehend, and that which their sciences, experiences and measurements cannot reach. These are the medicines of the heart and soul, and the strength of the heart, its dependence upon Allaah and trust upon Him and seeking refuge in Him. Prostrating and feeling in dire need of Allaah and humbling oneself for Allaah. Likewise giving Sadaqah (charity), making Dua’, repentance and seeking forgiveness, being good to the creation, aiding the distressed and liberating from grief and unhappiness.
Indeed these types of medication have been used by various nations, who are upon different religions and communities, and they found that they had an effect in the treatment of illnesses, which even the sciences of the most knowledgeable doctors could not reach, and they have no experience nor measurement of it. We have indeed experienced these matters a great deal and as others have, and we have seen what ordinary medicine can and cannot do.’

| 6 | Charity repels calamities:
Charity protects the person as stated in the Hadith
“Doing good (to the people) protects one from misfortunes, secret charity extinguishes the anger of the Lord, and keeping ties with kinship increases one’s life span.”
[At-Tabaraani - Al-Albaani classified it as hasan (good)]

| 7 | TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN AFFAIRS
Imam al-Shafi‘i رحمه الله said:
Nothing scratches your skin like your own fingernail; so take care of your own affairs yourself.
[Diwan al-Imam al-Shafi‘i]
This statement carries an important lesson about personal responsibility, self-reliance, and not unnecessarily depending upon people. A person should strive to take care of his own responsibilities, solve his own problems when he is capable, and avoid making himself dependent upon others without a genuine need.
Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.
[Qur’an 13:11]
A believer should therefore take responsibility for his actions and make sincere effort to improve his own situation rather than constantly waiting for others to do what he is capable of doing himself.
The Prophet ﷺ also taught us to have determination and to seek what benefits us. He said:
Be keen on what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be helpless.
[Sahih Muslim 2664]
This does not mean that a Muslim can never ask others for assistance. Islam encourages cooperation, brotherhood, and helping one another. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
And cooperate in righteousness and piety.
[Qur’an 5:2]
Rather, the lesson is that a person should not become unnecessarily dependent upon people when Allah has given him the ability to handle his own affairs. He should make the effort, seek Allah’s assistance, and then rely upon Allah.
The believer understands that people may help him, but ultimately his affairs are in the Hands of Allah. Therefore, he works, takes responsibility, seeks permissible means, and places his trust in Allah alone.
May Allah سبحانه وتعالى make us people of responsibility, determination, independence from the creation, and complete reliance upon Him. Ameen 🤲🏾 | 358 |
| 8 | 💥 Before doing any good deed, one should consider the following:
🌟 1) Who is he doing it for?
Is he doing it for Allaah alone or is he doing it so that he can show-off to the people by posting it on the social media?
📕 Narrated Abu Hurairah that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Allaah said: {I am most independent and free from needing any associates. Whoever performs a deed while associating partners with me (doing so for others along with Me), I shall abandon him along with his setting up of associates to Me (shirk)}”

📕 Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: A man said: Messenger of Allaah! A man wishes to take part in jihad in Allaah’s path desiring some worldly advantage? The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “He will have no reward.” The people thought it terrible, and they said to the man: Go back to the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم, for you might not have made him understand well. He, therefore, (went and again) asked: Messenger of Allaah, a man wishes to take part in jihad in Allaah’s path desiring some worldly advantage? He صلى الله عليه وسلم replied: “There is no reward for him.” They again said to the man: Return to the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم. He, therefore, said to him third time. He صلى الله عليه وسلم replied: “There is no reward for him.”
📑 [Sunan Abu Dawood (2516) and graded as “Hasan” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Shaikh Ahmad Shaakir graded it “Saheeh” in Musnad Ahmad (15/16)]

🌟 2) What is he doing?
Example: is he paying Zakaah (obligatory charity) or is he paying Sadaqah (optional charity)? Is he taking shower to cool off or is he taking shower (Ghusl) to remove major impurity?

✔ These two points are the whole purpose of making the "Intention". And the place of intention is the heart, articulating it with the tongue is a Bid`ah. | 370 |
| 9 | The best charity starts with oneself
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"If one of you is poor, let him start with his own self and give charity to it. If there is anything left, then let him give it to his dependents. If anything is left after his dependents, then let him give it to his relatives. If anything is left after his relatives, then in this way and in that way (to others around him)."
✅ Grading: This ḥadīth is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ), as classified by Imām al-Albānī in Ṣaḥīḥ Sunan an-Nasā’ī.

«إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِنَفْسِهِ، فَيَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْهَا، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ شَيْءٌ فَلْيُعْطِهِ عِيَالَهُ، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ عَنْ عِيَالِهِ شَيْءٌ فَلْيُعْطِهِ ذَا قَرَابَتِهِ، فَإِنْ فَضَلَ عَنْ ذَا قَرَابَتِهِ شَيْءٌ فَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا» | 354 |
| 10 | 😥 You have returned home and you are tired, you have carried groceries required at home....suddenly your mum asks : " have you brought me milk?!" 😦
😊 Smile and tell her "give me a minute I will go and get you some!"
maybe the prayer she will pray for you could be the one to save you....!
👴 Your dad says" So and so! Come and take me to the doctor, I have an appointment"....you reply "Alright"....He says to you "May Allah bless you"......This could be that which will save you......!
👶 You are praying, and your baby is playing next to you, and all of a sudden jumps on your back while you are in Sijda position ...😳! Don't be upset be patient, and prolong your Sijda for that,.......👉 this could be that which will save you.....!!
😥 You quench a tired worker's thirst by offering glass of cold water 🍸...
👉 this could be that which will save you.
🐧 You place grains of rice where birds can eat 👉 this could be that which will save you....!!
👍 You find dirt along your way and you remove it...👉 this could be that which will save you.....!!
🍵 You give left over food to the cats 🐯for them to eat.....
👉 this could be that which will save you....!!
😣 A person provokes you and you say "May Allah forgive you".....👉 this could be that which will save you......!!
😢 You are reading a verse from the Quran and a tear falls from your eye......👉 this could be that which might save you.....!!
🚶You pass by and find youngsters disobeying Allah, you stop to give them Daawah and counsel them .....👉 this could be that which will save you.
👩 You see a woman revealing her beauty......you lower your gaze and make istighfar.....👉 this could be that which will save you. ...!!
😒 Someone annoys you and you want to punch him then you remember Allah's words.....
<And those who hold their anger and forgive people.....> you control your anger and forgive......👉 this could be that which will save you.
😷 You get to know of someone's shameful act and you don't spread that information but keep it to yourself......👉 this could be that which will save you. ......!!
I bear witness that there is no God worthy of worship but Allah alone, he has no associates........
If you save an ant from drowning in water...then this act won't go in vain in front of Allah SWT. ....
We don't know which small deeds which we don't bear in mind could be the ones to speak for us on the day of judgement!!
👉 therefore don't look down upon any good deed.
*Always keep repeating to yourself in speech of a good deed you intend to do .....👉this could be that which will save you then you will see how your life will be transformed.....!!

| 11 | This hadith (Tirmidhi 2061) affirms that the evil eye (al-'ayn) is a genuine spiritual reality. To protect believers from harm, envy, and negative spiritual influences,
the Prophet ﷺ strongly encouraged regular recitation of Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas (the Mu'awwidhatayn), which serve as spiritual shields against all forms of harm.
Lesson: The evil eye is real; protect yourself daily through the regular recitation of the protective chapters of the Quran.
🤲🏻Ya Allah, protect us from the evil eye, envy, and all forms of visible and hidden harm through Your noble words.

“Money which is earned by disobeying Allāh is nothing except a person being led to his destruction step-by-step while he perceives not,
As Allāh says: ‘Those who reject Our Āyāt, We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not. And I will give them time, certainly My Plan is strong.’ — [al-Qurʾān 7:182-183],
So fear Allāh, fear Allāh.”

| 14 | Manners are gifts:
Ibn Kaysaan said: "Manners are gifts which Allaah grants whomever He will from His slaves. If Allaah wills goodness for a slave, He would grant him noble manners."

| 15 | I heard a very beautiful thing in a lecture once... that gave me both hope and also scared me.. (This was when I didn't have the money to perform Umrah but I craved it so much!)
The lecturer said, "There are a lot of bodies without hearts doing tawaf around kabah and there are a lot of hearts there too without their bodies."
Which meant that some people yearn for going to Makkah and Madina so much that their hearts are already there and Allah can see their yearning.. and give equal ajar to those people even if they cannot afford to go there.
Allah niyat daikhtay hain.. bhahut say log Umrah aur Hajj say bhi khali hath wapis ajatay hain.. aur kuch log kabhi na janay k bawajod Allah k bahut qareeb hotay hain.. | 520 |
| 16 | DO NOT WASTE THE OPPORTUNITY WHILE YOU ARE ALIVE
Whenever you hear the adhan, remember that it is a call to worship Allah. It is an opportunity to turn back to Him, pray, make dhikr, seek forgiveness, and increase your righteous deeds.
Allah reminds us that death ends the opportunity to return and act:
> Every soul will taste death. Then to Us you will be returned.
Qur’an 29:57
Allah also tells us about those who will regret their missed opportunity after death:
> My Lord, send me back so that I may do righteousness in what I left behind.
But they will not be given another opportunity. Allah says:
> Never! It is only a word he is saying.
Qur’an 23:99–100
The Prophet ﷺ also taught us that when a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who supplicates for him.
Sahih Muslim 1631
So when you hear the adhan, do not treat it as merely a sound in the background. Remember that one day you will hear no more calls to prayer, have no more opportunity to make sujud, no more opportunity to say subhanAllah, and no more opportunity to seek Allah’s forgiveness through your actions.
Those who have already entered their graves would love to have even one more opportunity to worship Allah. You have that opportunity right now.
Do not postpone the prayer. Do not delay repentance. Do not waste your health, your time, or your remaining opportunities to do good.
The grave is coming for every one of us, and none of us knows when our final moment will arrive.
While you are still alive, act. While the door of repentance is still open, repent. While you can still make sujud, make sujud. While your book of deeds is still open, fill it with righteous deeds.
One day, you may wish for the very opportunity you have today.
O Allah, help us worship You while we are still alive, forgive our sins, accept our repentance, and grant us a righteous ending. Ameen 🤲🏾 | 523 |
