ℹ️ You can use various past tenses in your story:
▶️ Past simple: to describe actions which started and ended in the past, or actions which happened one after the other in the past.
Example:
I went to Bombay last year.
I stopped at a bookstore to buy some greeting cards.
▶️Past Continuous: to set the scene or to describe events/actions in progress at a certain time in the past.
Example:
It was pouring that evening. We were all standing under the tree waiting for the bus to arrive.
▶️ Past perfect: for actions which happened before other past actions, or to give the background of the story.
