BLA Claims 33 Personnel Killed in 36 Operations Over One Week (August 16–23)
According to a statement by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the group claimed to have carried out 36 operations across Balochistan over the past week, resulting in 33 security personnel killed and several injured.
Key claimed incidents:
August 16 (Basima & Surab): Blockades established at three locations; attack repelled – 6 personnel killed, 4 injured. BLA fighter Mushtaq (alias Koh-Yar) martyred. August 17 (Hoshab, Kharan, Chagai, Nushki): IED attack – 2 killed, 4 injured. Death squad operative Ali Haider detained and executed. Multiple commercial vehicles targeted. August 18 (Chagai, Kalat, Surab): Ambush on convoy – 3 killed; IED attack on military bunker – 6 killed. Death squad vehicle destroyed – 8 killed total. Two MI operatives detained and executed. BLA fighters Mureed and Bhawal martyred. August 19 (Kharan, Chagai, Kalat): Main bridge destroyed; military stadium blown up; commercial container seized. August 20 (Pishin & Killa Abdullah): Full control of Saranan town; police station and NADRA office seized; arms and ammunition confiscated; police station destroyed. According to official sources, an alleged attack was carried out on an FC road-search team in the Heerabad area of Turbat, Kech district, in the morning.
Key details:
· Six armed men riding three motorcycles reportedly attacked the FC team while they were conducting road-searching and security checks. · The attackers first threw a hand grenade and then opened fire. · FC personnel returned fire, prompting the attackers to flee the scene. · Three FC personnel sustained injuries and were shifted to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The family of the deceased, Qari Rashid, is conducting a protest in front of the Bannu Press Club, accompanied by the body. According to family sources, Qari Rashid was detained by the Bannu Police Peace Committee from the city court on July 27, 2026. The family reported that relatives met with Hazrat Umar, the head of the Bannu Police Committee, who provided an oath on the Quran that Qari Rashid would not be subjected to extrajudicial killing. Furthermore, family sources stated that a press conference was held, during which the family offered to take an oath on the Quran affirming that the deceased was not involved in the killing of any police personnel.
The family alleged that the Bannu Police Peace Committee had collected between 80 and 90 million PKR from rivals and subsequently abducted Qari Rashid without a First Information Report (FIR). They accused the Bannu Committee of accepting payments from individuals, abducting their rivals for financial gain, and executing them by designating them as militants. The family challenged the Bannu Police Committee to present evidence proving that Qari Rashid was involved in any attack or provided assistance in any attack against police forces. It was stated that, following the funeral, the family intends to hold a subsequent press conference to present all evidence indicating the involvement of the Bannu Police Peace Committee in the abduction and killing of Qari Rashid.

According to family sources, Qari Rashid was detained from city court by Bannu Police Peace Committee on 27 July, 2026. According to family, the relatives met with Bannu Police Committee head Hazrat Umar and he gave us oath on Quran that they will not kill him extra judicially. Family sources also said that they did press conference as well and also they're ready to take oath on Quran that the deceased wasn't involved in any killing of Police personnel. According to family sources, Bannu Police Peace Committee has taken 80-90 lac PKR from their rivals and abducted Qari Rashid without any FIR. He accused Bannu committee for taking money from people and abducting their rivals for money and killing them by declaring them militants. He challenged Bannu police committee to bring the proofs that Qari Rashid was involved in any attack or assistance in any attack against police. He said that after funeral, family will do another press conference with all the evidence that Bannu Police Peace committee was involved in the abduction and killing of Qari Rashid.
