He googled "how to get money back from Telegram scam Ethiopia." The internet, with great gentleness, told him: you absolutely cannot!! also that profile photo was an Arsenal footballer.💀 Dawit switched off his phone. Opened it again. Switched it off. Sat in silence for a duration he will not disclose. Ch 4...

... CHAPTER 2: The Telegram Group (Oh No) You already know where this is going. You know, and yet we must go there together. The group was called something professional-sounding. 1k members. A pinned message with testimonials. The admin had a real-looking profile photo... a man in a suit, standing in front of what was either a nice car or a Canva template of a nice car. Four people in the comments had written things like "trusted 100%" and "very fast very good brother." Dawit, a man who once refused to merge a PR without three approvals, sent 15k ETB to a complete stranger's telebirr account based on this evidence. He told himself it was fine. (It was not fine.) The confirmation came fast... like too fast, actually, which is something Dawit would think about later, in the dark, while staring at the ceiling. The admin said the USDT was "on the way." Dawit refreshed his wallet. Nothing. Refreshed again. Still nothing. Sent a message. No reply. Checked the group. The group was gone. 1k people. Vanished.
