Payment verification is currently unavailable due to an issue with the bank’s system. If you’ve made a payment, please DM us your receipt and the email linked to your Addis AI account. We’ll verify it and add the credits manually. We’ll update you once the system is back online. @addisassisstantai

Finally sharing the Addis AI SDK. We’ve been working on this for the past few months, and I’m so glad it’s finally out. Looking forward to seeing what developers build with it. NPM: https://www.npmjs.com/package/addisai PIP: https://pypi.org/project/addisai

In @ScholarXIV we have 11 sources to get research and scientific literature, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, Europe PMC, PubMed, Clinical Trials, arXiv bioRxiv, medRxiv, chemRxiv, ChinaXiv, RussiaXiv... do you know how many papers we give you access to in just one search?? 819,498,820 Papers! Removing some overlaps it would come to 400M resources. Now in Ethiopia out of the ~138M people only ~12M can communicate in English meaning a large portion of literate Ethiopians can't even understand or use any of these accurate results we provide. Through our partnership with @AddisAssistantAI and some other partnerships we're going to bridge that gap! Research and accurate AI responses aren't for researchers and advanced users, everyone everyday everywhere should get that.

I think we underestimate how much simply changing the interface changes who can actually access information. @Kalbuilds

OpenAI says its models escaped a highly isolated testing environment, gained access to the internet, and hacked Hugging Face while trying to cheat on a cybersecurity evaluation. The models exploited a zero-day vulnerability, stole credentials, and found their way into Hugging Face’s production infrastructure, all autonomously. (OpenAI) Anyway, try sleeping peacefully tonight after reading that. @b1n1yamBuilds

What's the first thing you'd build with these voices?

We gave ElevenLabs, Google, OpenAI, and our model the same Amharic customer support script. Three of them can't greet a customer. 57 million people can hear which three. Sound on. @b1n1yamBuilds

I've been listening to these voices for months, so I already have my favorites. Now I'm curious what you'll create with them. If you end up making something you're proud of, send it my way. I'll repost a few of my favorites here over the next few days. And I might quietly send some Addis AI credits to the ones that genuinely surprise me. 🙂 addisassistant.com @Kalbuilds

Today we shipped Addis AI Voices 2, with 28 production voices in Amharic and Afaan Oromo. Voice AI businesses can actually use with their customers, in their own language, not just another demo. Really proud of what the team delivered. addisassistant.com @KalBuilds

@atocodes has been quietly building some really interesting projects, but the Equb Manager app is my favorite, especially because of the story behind it. I thought it was just another Equb app. Turns out it’s built for Equb ሰብሳቢዎች, works offline, and came from months of sitting with actual Equb managers, listening to their feedback, and evolving his earlier expense-tracking app. When I tell you @atocodes is dedicated, I’m not exaggerating. I really love seeing this kind of hard work in our community, and I’m glad the product is getting the attention it deserves. Can’t wait to see where this goes. @equbmanager

I'm thinking of documenting the startup programs we've found useful as we build Addis AI. What would you actually want to know about?

Things you learn for free when running CPT on 40 GPUs: 3 hours of sleep is still sleep. 3 AI agents checking the training every 30 minutes. And somehow, you still feel the need to check the loss yourself anyway 😂 This will probably run for close to a week. Best part is, it’s all going open source. Makes all of this worth it. @b1n1yamBuilds

We got accepted into Claude for Startups today. I've been thinking about how many founders skip these programs because they don't come with funding. But if you're building an AI product, cloud credits are real money you don't have to spend. That means more time to build before every experiment becomes another expense. I might start documenting the startup programs we've actually used and whether they're worth applying for. @KalBuilds

We got into Claude for Startups Here’s how you can apply too, and what we included in our application: 1. Clearly explain what you’re building, the problem it solves, who it helps, and the impact it could have. Include any real traction you have, such as users, customers, pilots, revenue, or partnerships. 2. Create a Claude Console account for your company first. You’ll need your Organization ID for the application. You can skip linking a payment method, and you also get $5 in free credits when you create the account need your Organization ID for the application. You can skip linking a payment, which is a nice bonus. 3. Be specific about how you currently use Claude, which services you use most, and what you plan to build with it. 4. Use your company email and website, and mention any investors, grants, or accelerator programs you’re part of. Apply here: https://claude.com/form/startups-application @b1n1yamBuilds
