An incredibly important piece of advice for IELTS Speaking PART II Usually, there's no such thing as being off-topic in part 2. As long as you mention something related to the topic, you are good. For example, here in this speech, my topic was 'a day out which didn't cost a lot' and I only mentioned it towards the end of the story when I said I paid for two glasses of water. Now imagine your topic is 'Describe a movie you watched' Most of you would probably talk about: —The name of the movie —Who the actors are —Who the director is(maybe) —The plot of the movie All of these are factual information and you run out of it very fast(before you hit the 1:30, 2:00 minute mark) But I would talk about the following: —Whether I like watching movies —How often I watch them —How the day was going on that day —What made me watch the movie —A small description of the movie plot —How I felt during the movie at first —How I felt after —Whether I liked the movie These details are very flexible and you will never run out of them @sanokulovs_speaking

Okay, let's go on: [noun] + conscious = careful about, paying attention: price-conscious = careful about prices health-conscious = caring about health safety-conscious = careful about safety eco-conscious = caring about the environment hygiene-conscious = attentive to cleanliness Slightly different but a very common phrase: self-conscious = worried about how others see you (similar to insecure) You can use this in both speaking and writing: Make up sentences and I'll react with gifs #vocabulary@sanokulovs_speaking

Let's learn a couple of phrases from these answers: X offers a perfect getaway from the stresses of my daily life = X gives me a chance to relax Next time, instead of saying 'X gives me a chance to relax' you can say 'X is/offers a perfect getaway' For example: For me, watching movies is a perfect getaway from daily stress What helps you to relax? Do you enjoy shopping, and why? ...(yes answer) I love shopping! Shopping is actually one of my favorite hobbies because it offers a perfect getaway(=mental break) from the stresses of my daily life. Whether it is buying groceries or just window shopping, shopping improves my mood and makes me feel great. Do you enjoy shopping, and why? ...(no answer) Honestly, shopping is not my thing at all because it is a time-consuming and stressful activity. When I go shopping, I usually spend hours in crowded stores and I often have to deal with pushy shop assistants. The whole process makes me feel tired to death. Do you compare prices when you shop? Of course, I do. In most cases, the price of an item is my first consideration. When I buy clothes, for example, I usually check out several stores before purchasing anything because I need to make sure that I find the best offers and don’t get ripped off. What's your favourite shop? There is one local shop that I enjoy visiting. It’s a small shop and it doesn’t even have a name. It specializes in selling clothes. The reason I love going to this shop is because it has the best offers for price-conscious customers like me and the staff is also very friendly. Do you like shopping on the Internet?( Yes answer) I do love shopping online because it is convenient and offers a variety of products which I may not be able to find at my local stores. Also, it's easier to make comparisons on online shopping platforms, where you can access prices, reviews, and product details with a click Do you like shopping on the Internet?(no answer) Absolutely no because when I shop online, I need to wait for my product to be delivered to me, which is something I hate. Also, I heard that there's a risk of fraud when you shop online. Some of my friends said that they never received some of their deliveries and they also couldn’t get a refund. Have you ever bought anything online? Just recently, I bought some clothes online but unfortunately the size was too big and the product was very different from what was advertised. And honestly, I regret buying them online. What are the benefits of shopping with friends? On top of the fun company, one advantage is they'll know your style and preferences, so they'll be able to provide guidance and help you find items for your home or wardrobe. Advice from your close friends is usually much more trustworthy than advice from a salesperson or stranger

If you pay attention, I didn't really use fancy words because in PART 2, your fluency/coherence and pronunciation are assessed more than other skills(Lexical Resource and Grammatical Range and Accuracy) So, keep everything simple in part two in terms of vocabulary and grammar. Pay more attention to making the speech smooth without many pauses, to how you link your story, and to your pronunciation. You will have the opportunity to showcase your vocabulary in PART 3(more about this later)
