To detect the latency of nystagmus.
In Posterior canal BPPV:
• Otoconia move within the semicircular canal.
• Abnormal endolymph movement stimulates vestibular receptors.
• Vertigo and nystagmus occur.
→If central vertigo = rapid ,No latency period.
→If peripheral vertigo = No rapid, have latency period; so we wait for 30sec⭐️.
💡Typical finding = Up-beating + torsional nystagmus.
