Axial ct scan brain window without conrtast show isodense area in the left side of brain (due yo loss differetantion between grey and whit matter )
Axial CT scan brain window without contrast show well defind homogenous hypodense in left side of brain with compression of lateral ventricle
Axial CT scan brain window without contrast show line of hyperdense in right side of the brain (this my be show Acute infraction )
Time?
• Changes of acute infarction may not be recognized on CT before 6 hours,Thrombolytic therapy
• SO NORMAL CT in early hours (sometimes DOSE NOTE exclude presence of infarction
Main role of CT in acute stroke to: Presentation:
( hemiparesis clinical diagnosis)
1-confirm diagnosis.
2-exclude hemorrhage (so what?).different from ischemic in management
3-exclude other diagnosis that may present similar to stroke (like tumor, abscess).
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) :
It is contrast To see enhancement in :
1. Infection
2. tumor
3. vascular malformations
Axial Ct scan brain window without contrast show hetrogeneous lesion in right side of brain with pusged the ventricle
Axial Ct scan brain window without contrast show homogenwous hyperdense biconcav lesion in left side (extradural hemorraghe ) and the lateral ventricle is pushed to right side and in the right side hetrogeneous ill defind mass
CT scan brain windiw no contrast shiw homogeneous hypodense ill defind mass in right side of the brain tissue
DDx :
1️⃣intracerebral hemorraghe
2️⃣ maas (lesion)
Axial Ct scan brain window without contrast well defind homogeneous hyperdense mass in brain tissue in left side of the brain surrounding by area of hypodense
DDX
1️⃣Mass
2️⃣Acute hemorrhage
Axial Ct scan brain window without contrast show ventricles and sulci compression due to brain odema
