Only 2 Months Left for IOQM! π
π I would like to share a few tips for IOQM Geometry, because I think this is the best time to strengthen it.
πΉ 1) The only theory you would require for IOQM is:
β’ Triangles
β’ Basic properties of circles
β’ Basics of quadrilaterals
β’ Basics of coordinates
No need to study more and more theory.
πΉ 2) IOQM Geometry is a little challenging for beginners, so make sure you solve every Geometry PYQ (unlike me, who hadn't even touched them last year π
).
πΉ 3) Don't forget that coordinate bashing is a thing that exists. It can make nearly 90% of the 5-marker problems much easier.
πΉ 4) In circle-based problems involving chords, let the circumcentre be the reference point and drop perpendiculars from it to the chord. Many problems vanish within seconds.
πΉ 5) Always carry your geometry tools and draw good diagrams. Just to tell you their powerβyou can solve the IOQM 2025 5-marker circles problem in just 2β3 minutes with a proper diagram.
πΉ 6) Don't think I am saying all these things without reason. In IOQM, it is more important to get the correct answer than to solve it beautifully using pure Euclidean geometry. At the end of the day, people care about the result, not the creativity.
πΉ 7) Try to identify the problems that can be bashed and solved within 5β10 minutes. Attempt those first. ππ
