The industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. The next great movement will not simply be against zionism, leftism or capitalism, but against the entire system known as the Beast. You aren't happy here, and deep down you know you'll never be if life continues like this. Touch grass. Lift Weights. Put down the phone. Get out of your comfort zone and organize with your friends.

This is key. Your concern about Anti-Tech individuals not fully following through on their beliefs is important. The future of this movement will not be determined by what *most* current Anti-Tech supporters do. Much like in other periods of great upheaval, such as the French Revolution and Russian Revolution, it will be a laughably small yet fanatic minority that will cause a shift impossible to ignore for the average person. This shift would necessitate a response by the ruling powers that the average person will find invasive and intolerable, and this will sow the seeds for popular support of Anti-Tech ideas.

It's important to remember that it is overwhelmingly the norm for societies to have at least a few causes of pain and suffering no matter what time or place they occupy. So it's not like people suffering today will automatically become fervent Anti-Tech supporters upon learning about the nature of their own suffering. The same goes for any other cause that has ever existed. Resistances, Revolutions and Rebellions are movements fueled by popular support, so it is necessary that the majority of people *bare minimum* are more welcoming to the cause than they are to the ruling power. And because the average person prioritizes the stability of their own lives over everything else, they will support whatever group best provides that.

In the second category are people who are appalled at modern technology and actually aspire to accomplish something against the tech­ nological system, but have no practical sense of how to go about it. At a purely tactical level some of these people may have excellent practical sense; they may know very well, for example, how to organize a demonstration against some particular atrocity that is being committed against our envi­ ronment. But when it comes to grand strategy they are at a loss. Most perhaps recognize that any victory against an environmental atrocity or other technology related evil can only be temporary, at best, as long as the technological system remains in existence. But they can think of noth­ing better to do than to continue attacking particular evils while vaguely hoping that their work will somehow help to solve the overall problem of technology. In reality their work is counterproductive, because it distracts attention from the technological system itself as the underlying source of the evils and leads people to focus instead on problems of limited significance that moreover cannot be permanently solved while the technological system continues to exist."

Nearly all such people fall into one of two categories: First, there are those who are appalled at what technology is doing to our society and our planet, but are not motivated to take any action against the technological system because they feel helpless to accomplish anything in that direction. They read an anti-tech book-say, for example, Jacques Ellul's Technological Society - and it makes them feel better because they've found someone who has eloquently articulated their own anxieties about technology. But the effect soon wears off and their discomfort with the technological world begins to nag them again, so they turn for relief to another anti-tech book - Ivan Illich, Kirkpatrick Sale, Daniel Qyinn, my own Industrial Society and Its Future, or something else - and the cycle repeats itself. In other words, for these people anti-tech literature is merely a kind of therapy: It alleviates their discomfort with technology, but it does not serve them as a call to action.

Ted Kaczynski provides the following insight: "There are many people today who see that modern society is head­ing toward disaster in one form or another, and who moreover recognize technology as the common thread linking the principal dangers that hang over us.

Still others simply have the wrong priorities. They are here because they find a cause to fight for and a community to listen to and respect them alluring. These types are also effectively controlled opposition, as they prioritize popularity over meaningful action against the system.

They also fall for thought-terminating-points such as the claim that there is something "wrong" with both occupying and criticizing a system - "you say you're anti tech but you use a phone!!" - As if your inability to instantly thrive and reproduce with no dependency on the system you were born and raised into was some sort of argument against resistance to the system! (the irony that this same argument has been made by slave societies across the globe to justify the continuation of slavery for thousands of years is also lost on these people.)

They believe they can compromise the needs of the system with the needs of humanity, and succeed only in serving as controlled opposition on behalf of the Beast. They believe all of humanity's faults and weaknesses can be solved if we make just one more technological advancement (the irony that this promise was said to be deliverable within a generation at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution centuries before we were born is lost on them).

To rephrase: Why do people interested in Anti-Tech not do more to resist the system? Many of the potential reasons you proposed for why resistance to the Beast have been minimal are true in their own right. Certain members of Anti-Tech circles fall into behavior patterns that compromise their own ability to effectively oppose, resist, and organize.

Guys i have some genuine questions for the ones that are into all of this for a long time. (- apologies to the adm that accepted me as i said i wouldn't get really into it) In between the last 4 years, i often came cross people that cannot turn themselves into naturalists for long periods, and i notice 2 patterns emerging in them. 1- they try to sync the ideas between urban society ideas and naturalist ideas and fail epically because they cannot realize that urbanistic views of society emerges basing on collective vicious and degenerative patterns. They just keep forgetting that the human body is perfect nature, and keep falling into transhumanist hypes and simple idiot problems such as not understanding that "omg without ultra tech medicine we would die from plagues produced by urban sickness". 2 - they fail by society impregnated morals and pressures such as "i cannot defend this point because i do not follow it, i drink and live by techs all day" or "i need communities that agree with me and not see me as an insane person but i can only find them in urban societies and in tech ideologies" or even "i want to opinate and people to hear me so i gotta go next to what they accept" Why do they just keep going back to urbanistic technological views of society and keep forgetting the damage done to our nature? Do they just forget what they have read from ted and all others? Or are they just liars that are hyping in and have neither read anything nor really got into it?
