The Wage Cage

Monday again.

This is why you’re so angry all the time. Basically, compared with 2020 the standard person now works 15 extra full-time weeks a year for nothing, it goes straight to the bank. And that doesn’t even include income tax, which subtracts another 12 weeks per year from your life (for the standard wage-earner). So without even considering GST on purchases, rent, bills, registration & licensing costs, by default you live 28 weeks per year (or 52% of your life) working exclusively for banks and government.

I imagine that when Chinese people are talking about doing thorough work, they say "Gotta make sure we cross the T's and slant the I's."
