one of the things i both love and hate about being a developer is that you can do it from anywhere and thats great for remote jobs and not having to need an office and all but it also means youre working 24/7 people that have defined office hours work on jobs that require being in their office with 9-5 and then leave the work at the office, the continue the next day, that night , or the weekends they rarely even think about work on their off time we are glued to our work 24/7

They stayed in their places till they were healed Something about this verse spoke to me the moment I read it. It nudged me, like someone constantly calling my name. At first, I thought it was about rest, because that’s something God keeps teaching me… “They stayed in their places till they were healed.” Sit down. Stay until this burnout passes. Stay until this heartbreak fades. Don’t rush your healing. Don’t run ahead to the next thing. That’s what I thought God was trying to say. But I kept reading the whole chapter, and the nudging didn’t stop. It felt like something was constantly pulling at my mind. So I reread it and opened one of my favorite commentaries, trying to understand what was really going on. The Israelites had just crossed the Jordan River. The Amorites and the other Canaanite kings were already on the west side and along the sea. Israel went straight from the east to the west, right into the land of their enemies. And that’s when God ordered the circumcision. Think about it. The Israelite warriors they trusted most were put in a vulnerable position by God’s command. Right in enemy territory, they had to obey in a way that left them defenseless, trusting Him completely. Yes, the enemies were already scared from what they had heard about God. But imagine being an Israelite in that moment, ready to fight, and God says, “Pause. Obey Me. Trust Me.” Can you imagine the faith it took to hand over your fighting chance, to lay down your armor, and trust God would protect you no matter what? And they actually celebrated Passover fourteen days later. Imagine being in enemy territory, unable to fight, and still celebrating. Imagine God’s protection over His people. It seems very weird to enter a place expecting fierce battle and have God say, “Let go of all your weapons.” But God doesn’t operate based on our strength. Sometimes He asks us to step beyond calculations and control, to show us who’s really in charge. The God we worship is not a God of simple equations. I wonder… what are the things God is asking you to put down? What armor is He asking you to let go? I pray we can listen quickly, release what we’re holding, and simply stay. I pray we can have bold faith, celebrating even when we’re not fully healed, even when we can’t fight. And I pray the circumcision that will that will need time to heal wont hurt as much. And I pray all this in Jesus’ name. Amen. Verse: And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they remained where they were in camp until they were healed.
