What does Aploun mean?
I have received questions over the years about what Aploun means. Most of the time it's at an event or club where I am half-tipsy and avoid the answer because it takes too much time to explain. So, for whomever it concerns, here is the long story of Aploun:
Back in 2019, when I lived in Tampere, I had FetLife and Recon profiles as "Sigveig". I did not like the name because it was edgy and cringy (meaning "road to victory", as back then I felt taking the first step towards kink was a big step that would lead to making me happier). So I deleted the profiles, and I wanted to come up with something better.
I thought instead of going Scandinavian (Sigveig), I would try Greek that time around. The first thing in mind was Gods. One of the meanings of Aploun is a dialectal (Aeolic) version of Apollo. That is, when you put the stress on the first syllable, as Γploun. Apollo is a cool God and my favourite, not a twink like Hermes nor a jock like Ares. He was well balanced. He has both male and female lovers and was mostly the top unless he loved someone. By some accounts, he was so in love with Adonis that he neglected his divine duties. He was acting "foolishly" and abandoning his responsibilities just to be near him. Apollo, like me, had a fiercely independent sister (Artemis). To protect her brother, he sent a boar to kill Adonis. There's too much about Apollo I could relate to.
The other meaning, if you place the stress on the second syllable, as AploΓΊn, means nothing other than "simple". Not simple as in unsophisticated or foolish, but simple as straightforward, humble. That I thought was a nice thing to have as a note to myself to "keep things simple". As we are on the topic of Greek meaning, one saying is "Lakonizein esti philosophin" (To speak laconically is to philosophise.) It means that using few words to express yourself is a form of intelligence.
I later found out there was a third meaning I missed when researching this, which means "unseaworthy". Well, no secret meaning here. But we can take it as a good example that you cannot have full control of everything or be perfect. So I just pretend this meaning does not exist, as it has no meaning to me.
Would I go for the same name today if I were starting up? Probably not; I would probably go for something easier. Though I do not know what I would go for. I wouldn't think about it, either, as it doesn't really matter today. This is the name I am known by friends and online.
There is the "mystery" of Aploun in less than 500 words.
See you around.

Blackstyle schedules the repair to be finished August 26th (I sent the hood already in May). They also somehow managed to send it to my old student address in Uppsala that I used about 4 years ago and I did not get any email about it from them or DHL, it was returned September 3rd, nobody informed. I asked yesterday what's been going on it's been a while and then they tell me it has been returned.
I'm so fucking done with them

I probably had way too much fun at the Folsom stage as the Smitizen symbiote with rocketboyfr, korak_tac and gearboy_05. As you can see clearly there was an attempt to restrain me Imao as photographed by bull.

Folsom 2026.
I enjoy Folsom every year. I spend a lot of time on my gear outfits, as I am into that, and I do often get something from the appreciation towards that work I put in. I would not say I live for it, but I definitely enjoy it. This is how, for example, the red S10 LEDs happened in 2023, just a week before Folsom.
I am feeling a bit so-and-so today about the tactical outfits I see at Folsom. Many of them seem to be the same assortment of standard items. People I know who told me this looked "too much" in 2022 now do tactical. Individuality and cool, unique outfits are reserved for a minority.
Furthermore, it feels like the feeling of doing tactical has shifted. Not very long ago, seeing a guy in tactical gear inspired a feeling of a cold, anonymous, serious person (either sub or dom) who was either going to handcuff you and force you to obey, almost like there is no negotiation, or someone who deeply needed structure and hierarchy and would, more often than not, be a serious player. Now, it's almost as if the BDSM aspect has faded.
On the other hand, I also do cosplay, and I like mixing sometimes what I do for cosplay with kink. We should not just have the traditional "scary military guy" as the norm either, I thought, when I first started using the CoD Ghost mask sometime in early 2025.
Despite both of those opposite (as presented in this article) aspects being part of me, I still had this odd feeling. Subconsciously, I thought being in tactical does not show that I like heavy BDSM, almost as if it was doing the contrary. It is OK to do neither and show a neutral image, but I do not feel like pointing in the non-BDSM direction is something I like for myself. I love taking pictures, but I would like my tactical outfit to send the message that I also do things.
Which is why this Folsom was the first time I did not go tactical (for the full day), and most of the time I was in my silicone musclesuit. It was a bit liberating. A lot of people did not recognise me, but that's something that I also enjoy: getting good feedback while being anonymous.
I do not have a solution for this, concerning myself. I do not tell people what to do with their lives. I still consider tactical my main gear fetish, but these are my first thoughts coming back.
