when i do a chicken katsu fry, i always pick up a ramune or two. one lemon, one melon. it's so, so good with a really crispy chicken that's been dipped in a super salty and sharp/sweet katsu sauce. i mix up some hoisin, soy, a dash of ginger, and maybe a little red pepper flake if i want it spicy. it's very thick, coats chicken well, has a distinctly sharp saltiness. the hoisin gives it tang and an almost fruity note since it's mostly plum, soy backs it up with savory body and depth, ginger for brightness and just a slight hint of spice.

ramune is very good. ramune is, however, sugary. the cool thing though is that unlike 1 can of coke which will run you your entire daily allotment of sugar, ramune clocks in at like 40ish% last i checked. maybe a bit less depending on flavor. you can find classic lemon ramune and the really nice melon ramune at walmarts usually, it's quite popular even here in the states. of all the full sugar sodas you could be drinking, this is probably one of the best.

replace the hockey with a crashed 4 wheeler, and unfortunately, you've described maine. rent is fucking horrendous, people go out in the winter in shirt sleeves (me!), and smoke FUCKTONS of weed. oh my god. mainers smoke so much weed it's unreal
