Take a look back at the incredible hype for the Unova region! This video captures the massive line of fans gathered for the sales launch event for the North American version of the DS games, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
While the games officially released in North America on October 7, 2012, Nintendo hosted a special "presale" event at the Nintendo World Store in New York on October 6th. This allowed lucky fans to purchase the games a day early before the rest of the country!

I always loved Sonic's urban stages. Even in modern games, they always look so good, and I end up thinking about how it would be to actually fully explore them outside of the normal levels. But maybe the fact they are just "backgrounds" I actually cannot access is part of their charm...

The Panasonic FOMA P900iV is a mobile phone model released in Japan in 2004, in conjunction with the release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Featuring prominently in the movie as the phone used by Cloud Strife, the model was released in three color choices; Bronze Orange, Champagne Gold and Cloud Black.
The game Before Crisis - Final Fantasy VII - was released exclusively for this phone; in it, you could use its camera to create Materia (magic skills, basically).

Filmed back in december 2006 on the 2F of the old Sofmap in Akihabara.
The PS3 had just been released, but PS2 was still everywhere. PSP was also pretty popular and even PlayStation games were still widely available. At the time, PlayStation completely dominated the Japanese gaming market.
A nice personal memory of Akihabara during the mid-2000s.
