The Pentagon has released an image captured by astronauts aboard Space Shuttle Columbia showing an unidentified object in low-Earth orbit. In the first of three photographs, the object appears near the center of the frame, just to the right of Earth’s limb. The image was taken during the STS-80 mission, which ran from November 19 to December 7, 1996.
