⚠️ A user lost 1,010 ETH ($2M) in a phishing attack after following an old Tornado Cash domain According to community reports, the user was redirected through the expired tornado.cash domain, which had reportedly been taken over by an attacker. A fake Tornado Cash frontend was then used to steal the victim’s deposit credentials, resulting in the loss of 1,010 ETH within 12 hours. The original domain reportedly expired after Tornado Cash’s team failed to renew it amid OFAC sanctions. Attackers subsequently registered the domain and used it for phishing. Blockchain tracking reportedly shows most of the stolen funds remain in addresses controlled by the attackers.
