If you want to understand what’s behind all the turmoil in Australia right now then you need to understand the story. Every society has a story it tells its citizens, it’s how you get everyone more or less on the same page to achieve a certain outcome. The story is told by the schools, Hollywood, the government and every institution that matters. Since the Second World War the story has been the same and it’s the only one you’re supposed to believe. Your participation in society is actually conditional upon your willingness to believe it. If you want to bank, trade and stay out of trouble then you had better retell the story and not think too much about it. Like all stories crafted for the masses it has a simple good vs evil dynamic; something to strive for and something to hate. In the story we’ve been told, racial-equality is good and Nazi racists are bad; Multiculturalism is the goal and ethnic nationalism should be destroyed. But there’s a problem. The story is bullshit. Adherence to the story is degrading us and everything we care about. If you believe your lying eyes, the closer the story brings us to its logical conclusion the worse our conditions become, to the point where even those ‘racist Nazis’ can start making a lot of sense. Obviously, if we want peace then the story needs to change. We need a new story more in line with the reality of things and this needs to happen in spite of all the kicking and screaming that’s bound to take place in the process. But the real problem we face is the old story isn’t just a mistake, it’s a plan.
