Fabric Choice: Stretchy crepe for the bodice and skirt, with delicate lace for the sleeves. Basic Steps to Achieve This Look 1. Draft the Pattern: Use a basic bodice block with bust and waist darts. Modify the neckline to a sweetheart shape. Create princess seams or panel lines for a fitted look. Draft long lace sleeves separately with a basic sleeve block. 2. Cut the Fabric: Use stretchy, structured fabric (like scuba or crepe) for the bodice and skirt. Cut lace for the sleeves. 3. Sew the Bodice: Join the front and back bodice panels. Attach the lace sleeves at the armhole. 4. Create the Skirt: Cut an A-line skirt and draw out the design of the upper part of the skirt for the pleats. 5. Finishings: Add a zipper at the back. This type of fabric is sheer, which means that it is woven in an extremely low density that results in a transparent and relatively flimsy textile. Due to its transparency and high breathability, organza fabric is commonly used to make garments that overlay thicker types of apparel such as satin or silk. When paired with satin or silk, it create an added dimension and shine. Organza has an air of romance 😘 and it's a sturdy (firm) fabric that can withstand washing. We have different types of organza, ranging from: Plain organza Embroidered organza Floral organza Mirror organza Crystal organza. Since organza is so thin and lightweight, it is highly susceptible to damage. Avoid catching organza textiles on snags, and make sure to wrap it in a protective substance, such as muslin, when it is in storage.
