Never rely on SMS to verify that you have received payment when making transactions. My friend was selling a phone and the buyer took it under the pretext of calling someone else. The buyer saved his own number as "BOA" on the phone. He then returned the device and sent an SMS that looked exactly like a Bank of Abyssinia confirmation message from the saved number. Unless you click on the profile and check the actual number, the message appears to be sent by BOA. To make it convincing, the scammer even checked the account's previous balance and calculated the new balance to include in the fake SMS confirmation. My friend was more observant and noticed the discrepancy. He retrieved the phone and gave the buyer a well-deserved lesson. 🥊🥋 I am sharing this because many people rely solely on SMS notifications without verifying the source. There are many ways people deceive others. Whenever you receive money, make sure to check your balance inside the app or using the USSD code.

I can say Upwork is almost saturated. Not only is it difficult for someone starting out, but even those who have been there before are struggling. You shouldn't be desperate after just a month of trial; it takes too much patience. About the proposals, I use AI, to be honest, but I write them in a way that matches my skills with the client's needs. My usual rule is: if the client used AI to post the job, I use AI to write the proposal. If the client hand-wrote it, I won't use AI.
