He who has not faced death has not yet learned to live. Death is the great initiator, stripping the ego of its illusion of immortality and awakening the soul to the value of life.

When Jesus Tells the Man to Stretch Out His Hand When Jesus enters the synagogue, He meets a man whose hand has withered. Jesus does not move the man’s hand for him. He commands, “Stretch forth thine hand.” The man acts upon the command, and his hand is restored. Esoterically, the withered hand represents the part of us that has stopped acting because the mind has convinced us that we cannot. Fear, doubt and past failure create a voice within the mind that says, “Don’t try,” “You’ll fail again,” or “You’re not capable.” Christ represents higher awareness observing these limitations without accepting them as truth. The command to stretch represents the will acting despite what the mind has been conditioned to believe. The man could not discover his strength by continuing to believe in his weakness. He had to act beyond the limitation his condition presented to him. You strengthen the will every time you stop asking the mind for permission to act.

As true, disciplined willpower develops within the soul, its fire begins to burn away the impurities and chains that once bound you to the demands of the ego and body. Through this inner fire comes a rebirth of character and a transformation of the inner self. The ascension of the soul is developed through willpower: the ability to remain sovereign over yourself, no longer enslaved by every impulse, temptation, and desire of the ego and body.

The third eye doesn’t need activating. It is not about switching on some hidden spiritual organ in your brain. It represents the inner eye of awareness. Your physical eyes see the world around you. Your third eye represents your ability to see the world within you. Most people think, feel and react without ever observing what is happening inside their own mind. Opening the third eye means becoming aware of your thoughts, emotions, desires and unconscious patterns instead of blindly identifying with them. If you can observe your thoughts, then you are not simply the thoughts. You are the awareness witnessing them. The third eye opens when you stop being lost within the mind and begin consciously observing it. 👁

You are tapped into a living stream of universal consciousness. This energy pours infinitely into your mind, and the direction of your mind determines where that energy flows into your reality. Do not misuse this power by constantly directing it toward doubt, fear, worry, and limitation. What you repeatedly feed with your attention begins to shape your inner world, your actions, and eventually your life. Direct the flow toward love, belief, growth, healing, purpose, and manifestation. You have one fundamental power: The power to direct your awareness. Where awareness goes, energy follows. Do not misuse it. One cannot consciously direct their reality until they understand the consciousness within you that is creating it.

Matthew 7:3–5 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

One of the greatest traps of the ego is building an identity around your past pain. Something happens to you, and instead of simply experiencing it, learning from it and eventually letting it go, the mind begins to form an identity around it. “I am this way because this happened to me.” Repeat that story enough and eventually you stop seeing it as something that happened to you and start seeing it as who you are. This is why healing can sometimes feel uncomfortable. The ego would rather protect a familiar identity than step into the unknown. To truly transform yourself, you have to become aware enough to separate what happened to you from who you actually are.

If man truly came face to face with God, it would be a terrifying encounter. The absolute perfection, goodness, and purity of God would shine mercilessly upon everything within us that stands against it. Every hidden motive, selfish desire, deception, corruption, and unlawful action would be dragged into the light. Before absolute goodness, there would be nowhere for darkness to hide and no lie we could tell ourselves about what we have become.

The heart is essential because every action you have ever taken was first preceded by an inner state: a feeling, emotion, impulse or desire. But the heart cannot remain pure while the eyes, ears and habits continually feed the mind corrupted material. What you watch, listen to, repeatedly think about and surround yourself with is not neutral. These inputs condition your inner state, and your inner state eventually expresses itself through behaviour. Guard your inputs. Purify the mind. Clean the heart. When the inner world becomes ordered, your actions naturally change, and when your actions change, the reality you create changes with them.
