Under this format, the reference/acknowledgement string starts with the prefix 'S' followed by the 27-digit transaction identifier. 2. Client Software Upgrades (ECMP / CELC) In newer versions of UIDAI client software (such as Child Enrolment Lite Client / CELC and updated ECMP mobile & tablet clients), UIDAI added the 'S' prefix to distinguish packets generated via service-based digital clients from older, legacy 14-digit standalone station IDs. Key Things to Know: Fully Valid: Enrolment packets starting with 'S' are completely valid and recognized by UIDAI’s Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR). Status Tracking: When checking enrolment status online or fetching e-Aadhaar, entering the full string (including the 'S' prefix if prompted by the portal) allows you to track progress normally.
