*North Postal Circle Adopted Unethical Methods To Win The Championship*
*Muzaffarpur, Senior Correspondent.* The North Postal Circle of the Postal Department has been in the news for some controversy or the other. Sometimes due to fake employees, sometimes due to fake accounts, the department had to lose lakhs of rupees.
Now the new case is related to opening new accounts to win the championship in the circle. Officials flouted the rules to create a record and opened thousands of accounts in the name of a single person. With this, they were also successful in winning the competition. This disclosure happened when the department reviewed the new account opening competition.
In this matter, North Bihar Philatelist Society President and RTI activist Chandrakishore Parasher has complained by writing a letter to the Prime Minister's Office along with the departmental minister and officials on Thursday. He has demanded a high-level capable authority to investigate this entire matter.
It is said that in the financial year 2025-26, the Department of Posts started a competition to save the savings scheme. Its objective was to arouse interest among people towards savings accounts and to motivate them to open new accounts.

> "The Postal Department is trying to improve for the last few days. We have tried to do quite good work in the country. But some mischievous elements inside and outside the department are trying to tarnish the image of the department. If a complaint is received in this regard, it will be investigated."

It was told that in this competition, all post offices of all postal divisions of the North Circle were included in this competition. This competition was started to improve the poor condition of the circle. To improve it, at the PMG office level, a small amount was deposited and thousands of accounts were opened in the name of a single person in Dakpals. It was said that this would improve the condition of the circle's Dakghars in the final stages. This would have made the whole process complete and there would have been financial irregularities from the lowest level to the highest level of the financial category.

- Last year, the Postal Department started a championship to open new accounts.
- From country to circle level, competitions were organized at different levels.
- Not only that, the department had set a target of opening a large number of accounts in crores. But the department did not get the expected benefit. They gave an example of two dozen Dakghars. The example is of Sitamarhi Mandal's Supauli Dakghar where out of 23,881 accounts opened, 22,242 accounts were closed within 93 days with only Rs. 100.
- All accounts were closed within two months of opening. The same condition is of Laheriasarai Pradhan Dakghar of Darbhanga Mandal. Here too, out of 26,383 RD accounts, 24,300 accounts in the name of 36 people were closed within three months of opening. | 502 |

A man (Philatelic Activist ) has filed a written complaint to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against North East Circle, for achieving targets by opening thousands of Accounts against same CIFs. This matter is under investigation now. 99% of Accounts opened, have been discontinued within 2 months! Legal actions may be initiated against Circles and Divisions. As a result, Division may hold GDS responsible for this misconduct.
