🚨Judge declares mistrial in first Stop Cop City RICO trial, defense objects Folks in Atlanta have been out supporting Ayla King, the first Stop Cop City RICO defendant to go to (speedy) trial. Today the judge already declared a mistrial, which King's attorney objected to. Court adjourned and the case will come back up in in September or October. Mainline Zine reported on Instagram: "King is the first of 61 people scheduled to begin proceedings in the unprecedented RICO indictment against individuals for their protest and opposition to "Cop City," a massive police militarization facility built in Atlanta. The mistrial declaration is a result of an appellate court decision regarding King's case last October, after the defense filed a motion to dismiss due to what it believed to be a violation of the speedy trial statute in George. According to a local attorney, a mistrial was essentially a directive of the court of appeals. King's attorney objected to the mistrial, because he believes the mistrial was declared improperly. According to sources inside the courtroom, he then asked for an acquittal because he believes empaneling a new jury is a violation of double jeopardy. Judge Farmer adjourned proceedings in light of the defense's decision to appeal the mistrial. The soonest we can expect to see King's case come back up in court is September or October. Farmer says he wants to resume with the other 60 cases."

🚨Armed attacks on ICE/CPB in Texas We've seen 2 attacks at an ICE facility & a CBP facility in Texas over the past few days... It's heating up. Today a man was killed at an Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas after allegedly attacking a Border Patrol guard, mainstream media reports. Enemy media also reported "Several suspects are in custody after a police officer was injured in a shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Alvarado, Texas, in the late night hours of the Fourth of July...Just before 11 p.m., the Alvarado Police Department said it was called to the 1200 block of Sunflower Lane, outside the ICE Prairieland Detention Facility, on a report of a suspicious person. When officers arrived, they saw a person who appeared to be carrying a firearm, according to a news release. Alvarado police said that when one of the first responding officers tried to engage with the person, an unknown number of suspects opened fire. At least one bullet struck an officer in the neck, police said. The injured officer was flown from the scene to a Fort Worth hospital, was treated and later released, Alvarado police said. According to Alvarado police, several armed suspects were taken into custody after trying to flee the scene with the help of local agencies, including the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. At this time, the suspects' names have not been released, and police are investigating the motive. A federal law enforcement source told CBS News Saturday that local police arrested eight people. The official said some of those apprehended were wearing body armor. The source told CBS News that early reports indicate that more than a dozen masked individuals dressed in black arrived at the Prairieland ICE detention facility late Friday night and vandalized vehicles and security cameras in the parking lot. The individuals launched fireworks in an apparent effort to lure law enforcement, the source said."

Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network is launching a new zine, "What to do when you, too, become a 'terrorist'" -- inspired by our own experience being banned in Germany and being labeled a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT)" by the United States and a "terrorist entity" by Canada, and by the ongoing attempts of the British state to proscribe Palestine Action as a "terrorist" organization. Of course, it is also influenced by the years of state repression targeting a wide array of liberation struggles and movements, from the Black Liberation Movement to Indigenous warriors to Puerto Rican independentistas, not to mention the designation of Palestinian, Lebanese, Yemeni, Iranian, Filipino and other resistance organizations as "terrorists" by the imperialist powers. Anonymous submission, continued: The activists priorities were to build unity with their comrades through struggle, to build their skills in direct action, to impose consequences upon genocide profiteers (and their collaborators), and to ensure this work could continue. It is the responsibility of all those living in the imperial core to strike blows against imperialism wherever and however they can. It is not enough to feel rage about the genocide of Palestinians - we must try to stop it. We cannot just glorify the Palestinian resistance - we must also bring the war home. This is the broader framework for the action taken in colchester.  Finally, this action was not committed in a silo. Unconditional solidarity with all those who wage war against empire. Free Elias. Glory to Iran. We are all Palestine Action. (2/2)

Anonymous submission: Activists painted "stop arming genocide / G.D. kills / free Palestine" on a General Dynamics office building in colchester, vermont. They broke several windows, splashed red paint on the front doors, and planted a Palestinian flag in front of the building.  General Dynamics OTS in colchester pays engineers 100k+ salaries to design weapon systems and provide project management for operations in saco, maine, where a factory produces parts for the MK-80 bomb series. These bombs have been used extensively in Gaza.  The office building is leased to several tenants through the real estate broker, V/T Commercial. By leasing this building to GD, V/T Commercial provides cover for genocide profiteers.  (1/2)

Graffiti spotted in Brooklyn, New York: WE ARE ALL PALESTINE ACTION!

Today is the anniversary of the Entebbe Airport Operation in which the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – External Operations (PFLP-EO) and the Revolutionary Cells (Germany) killed Yonatan Netanyahu, brother of Benjamin Netanyahu.

From COINTELPRO to Project Esther: The evolution of domestic counterinsurgency in the U.S. New article by Carrie Zaremba in Mondoweiss "The accusations leveled against student organizers of foreign coordination, terrorist affiliation, or espionage are fabricated and politically motivated. But they also reflect an underlying truth that Palestine solidarity, in its more radical formations, poses a real threat to the legitimacy and continuity of U.S. empire. When students reject the settler logic of the Zionist state, they are also rejecting the broader scaffolding of U.S. military hegemony, settler colonialism, and permanent war. It is precisely this alignment with a global resistance to imperial power that renders such movements dangerous, not because they are orchestrated from abroad, but because they articulate a domestic refusal of the geopolitical status quo. Project Esther is not COINTELPRO 2.0. It is, however, part of the same infrastructure of counterinsurgency, updated for the age of digital repression. Recognizing these continuities helps us build a strategic response grounded in historical movement memory that refuses fragmentation, cultivates discipline, and sustains struggle across generations. In order to resist effectively, we must remember that we are not the first to be targeted. There is a lineage of struggle beneath our feet. Through understanding the script, we begin to uncover the means to resist it. We begin to remember how our elders fought back, and how we can as well."

Electronic Intifada's Asa Winstanley reports: While @Pal_action is fighting for its life against proscription, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign threatens its branches with consequences if they support them. I’ve obtained an internal PSC email which shows its director Ben Jamal has ordered his branches: “We will not allow any branch to jeopardise the organisation … Please DO NOT share your own statements or comment on this issue… Branches SHOULD NOT be signing public statements or open letters on this or any other issue… Putting out content framed such as ‘we are all Palestine Action’ which may be legal to say now but could be illegal by next week, puts your members and followers at risk” Samidoun's commentary: After becoming the US/Canada equivalent of this, this is the least surprising memo we've ever seen. There's nothing unique about this, unfortunately -- it's the standard large Western imperialist based NGO approach to designations, proscriptions and political bans. An enormous amount of time and energy is spent on isolating groups subjected to such measures, and even on trying to do so with the actual resistance leading the movement, as they are also designated & proscribed, in the apparent belief that this provides some form of protection. There is no shortage of "wise" and "smart" advice about how you should never: attend international events if someone or a group designated by the US/Canada/UK/EU will be there; speak to people from such groups as it may be "coordination"; doing otherwise is "putting ppl at risk." People will even hold briefings about how to engage in compliance management most efficiently, and re-label this a service to the movement. Never mind all the advice about how you should never mourn Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, let alone Mohammed Deif. This isn't a matter of alienating allies at a dangerous time, when the proscription of @Pal_action requires the organizing of all to fight. It's that every time the reaction is as described above, the imperialist powers learn that surely, they can get away with it. If we don't rally - for real, even w/ risks - behind those who are targeted, and especially @Pal_action w/ its leadership in direct action materially resisting the Zionist-imperialist war machine, we encourage the state to do this MORE. So let's learn the lesson this time & act.

Asa Winstanley from Electronic Intifada reports: "Palestine Action told me yesterday that they’ve had at least 1,000 new recruits since the ban was announced. Must be even more now."

WE ARE ALL PALESTINE ACTION! Editorial in the New York War Crimes "....The entire movement must defy the draconian criminalization of resistance, which haunts us with the specter of incarceration. We cannot allow fear to distance us from our conscience or our will. Thousands of political prisoners — many who are Palestinian, others who have been radicalized by Palestine — have already shown us that while the cost of resistance can be high, it can never outweigh the power of a united front. The effectiveness and popularity of anticolonial resistance is why organizations like Samidoun and Palestine Action have been targeted by fascist governments and other counterinsurgent forces attempting to divide the movement with fearmongering and hysterical finger-pointing.... Popular support for the Palestinian cause continues to build, both despite and because of escalating fascist repression. Hundreds of people have joined Palestine Action in the past 10 days. “If we defeat the government’s attempts to destroy our organization, victory in our fight against Elbit is near,” the group’s spokesperson, Max Geller, told us this week. “If they do proscribe us, then let a thousand Palestine Actions bloom.” There have been significant attempts to isolate Palestine Action by liberal forces within the movement. We maintain that — as with resistance in occupied Palestine — there must be a visible, aboveground movement that serves as a popular cradle for underground militancy. WAWOG will always stand with militants in the imperial core. We call on all people of conscience to do the same. Death, death to the IOF. Free Palestine."

FREE ELIAS RODRIGUEZ LEGAL DEFENSE FUND Elias Rodriguez needs support: moral, political, and legal. This fundraiser aims fulfill the last of those tasks, to fund his legal defense against federal charges carrying a potential death sentence for alleged actions against israeli diplomatic staff in Washington DC (United States of America v. Elias Rodriguez). Currently, it appears that Elias is represented by an attorney with the federal public defenders office. We hope to raise enough money that Elias will be able to choose the best attorney possible. If he stays with the federal defender, the funds raised here will be forwarded to that defense team, perhaps to be used to supplement his defense by paying for additional costs, such as defense investigators and expert testimony. Any funds that are not able to be forwarded or are not accepted by Elias' defense team will be used to support other political prisoners and defendants. Elias has not entered a plea yet. While we believe the actions he's alleged to have taken are legally justified, he may or may not choose to pursue that defense. Regardless of how he and his lawyers decide to proceed, we will financially support his legal defense to the best of our abilities, with your help. At a minimum, given that he is facing capital charges, he will likely be facing a penalty phase, should he be convicted, which would determine if he's given a death sentence. In this case, your support could help save his life. For those of us who have been moved by the horrors of the genocide in Gaza, the possibility of saving just one life from the powers that are enacting that slaughter is worth grasping. And it is clear that the US government and the zionist movement, responsible for the killing fields of Gaza, are equally intent on killing Elias. In this way, his case is part of the same fight for Palestinian national liberation. The forces of oppression cannot be allowed to win in either context. It's time to stop running from the fight. Donate here to help Elias beat them in the court of law and in the court of public opinion. FREE ELIAS RODRIGUEZ ORGANIZING COMMITTEE https://www.givesendgo.com/EliasRodriguezLegalDefenseFund
