| 4 |  +2 For a few days, the Central Bank’s Dilijan Center wasn't just a building, it transformed into a global hub of some of the brightest minds on the planet.
This was the annual conference of The Armenian Society of Fellows, an extraordinary international network of scientists and experts driven by a singular, ambitious mission: to lift Armenia’s educational and research institutions onto the global stage.
To give you an idea the Society has 382 members spanning 35 countries, including three Nobel Laureates.
And I am actually one of those members. While most people know me for my blogging, few realize that behind the screen, I’m also a PhD holder and a university lecturer. During our time there, we unveiled a flagship project called Advanced Research in Computational Sciences and Artificial Intelligence.
It is a massive transformational program designed to educate, train, and connect the next generation of Armenian students to global networks.
In fact, we closed with a fascinating realization that bridges the global tech world with our local reality: Did you know that the very microchips powering your everyday mobile phone are being designed right here in Armenia.

Մի քանի օր շարունակ Կենտրոնական բանկի Դիլիջանի ուսումնական կենտրոնը պարզապես շենք չէր․ այն վերածվել էր մոլորակի ամենապայծառ ուղեղների համաշխարհային հանգույցի:
Սա «Հայ գիտնականների և փորձագետների ընկերակցության» (The Armenian Society of Fellows) ամենամյա համաժողովն էր: Այն գիտնականների և մասնագետների մի արտասովոր միջազգային ցանց է, որոնց առաջ է մղում մեկ միասնական, հավակնոտ առաքելություն՝ բարձրացնել Հայաստանի կրթական ու գիտահետազոտական հաստատությունները միջազգային մակարդակի:
Պատկերացում տալու համար ասեմ, որ Ընկերակցությունն ունի 382 անդամ աշխարհի 35 երկրներից, այդ թվում՝ Նոբելյան մրցանակի երեք դափնեկիրներ:
Եվ ես, ի դեպ, այդ անդամներից մեկն եմ: Չնայած մարդկանց մեծ մասն ինձ գիտի որպես բլոգեր, քչերն են պատկերացնում, որ էկրանից այն կողմ ես նաև գիտությունների թեկնածու եմ և համալսարանի դասախոս: Այնտեղ գտնվելու ընթացքում մենք ներկայացրինք մի առանցքային նախագիծ, որը կոչվում է «Առաջատար հետազոտություններ հաշվողական գիտություններում և արհեստական բանականության ոլորտում» (ARCSAI.ai):
Սա հսկայական, տրանսֆորմացիոն ծրագիր է, որը նախատեսված է հայաստանցի ուսանողների հաջորդ սերնդին կրթելու, վերապատրաստելու և համաշխարհային ցանցերին միացնելու համար:

Modern warfare is a battle of speed and data. Armenia’s BooTech developed the military's "digital nervous system" an advanced command-and-control software. However, to see beyond the horizon, this system requires satellite data.
Until now, BooTech relied on third-party commercial satellites. To achieve true independence, French defense giant Thales has stepped in.
The partnership signed at the Eurosatory expo in Paris is a strategic leap for Armenia:
Thales is partnering with BooTech to integrate these upcoming space technologies directly into Armenia’s domestic military software.

- Armenia secures independent space reconnaissance and encrypted communications, removing reliance on foreign commercial providers.

🇦🇲 Louis Pouzin (Ludovic Pouzinyan), a French computer scientist of Armenian descent, is widely recognized as one of the founding fathers of the Internet.
In the early 1970s, he designed the CYCLADES computer network and introduced the concept of the datagram, a revolutionary approach to data transmission that later became one of the key building blocks of the modern Internet through the TCP/IP protocol suite.
We often celebrate Armenian founders, engineers, and startups shaping the future. But it's equally inspiring to remember that Armenians have also helped shape one of humanity's greatest technological achievements the Internet itself.

Armenia’s Bazoomq Space Research Lab has teamed up with India’s Red Balloon Aerospace to test new technology in "near-space", the stratosphere, which sits high above airplanes but below satellites.
Instead of just talking about space, this partnership is about real action: flying high-altitude balloons to test advanced tech, smart sensors, and internet tools directly in the harsh upper atmosphere.

Firebird, an Armenian-founded AI infrastructure company, has signed a strategic partnership with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development to build a national AI ecosystem. The initiative includes next-generation AI data centers, collaboration with NVIDIA and leading U.S. technology companies, and investments in AI talent and startups.
For Armenia, this is more than an international business deal. It demonstrates that Armenian companies can play a leading role in delivering AI infrastructure at a national scale. It's a strong signal that the expertise, talent, and ambition built in Armenia are increasingly being recognized on the global stage.
As countries compete to build sovereign AI capabilities, Firebird's success highlights a growing opportunity for Armenia to become not only a source of AI talent, but also a creator of world-class AI infrastructure and innovation.
Հայկական ընկերությունը մասնակցում է արհեստական բանականության ապագայի ձևավորմանը։
Firebird-ը՝ հայկական արմատներով AI ենթակառուցվածքների ընկերությունը, ռազմավարական համագործակցության համաձայնագիր է ստորագրել Ղազախստանի Արհեստական բանականության և թվային զարգացման նախարարության հետ՝ երկրի ազգային AI էկոհամակարգը կառուցելու նպատակով։ Նախագիծը ներառում է նոր սերնդի AI տվյալների կենտրոնների ստեղծում, համագործակցություն NVIDIA-ի և ամերիկյան առաջատար տեխնոլոգիական ընկերությունների հետ, ինչպես նաև ներդրումներ AI տաղանդների և ստարտափների զարգացման մեջ։
Հայաստանի համար սա պարզապես միջազգային համագործակցություն չէ։ Սա ապացույց է, որ հայկական ընկերությունները կարող են առանցքային դեր ունենալ ազգային մասշտաբի AI ենթակառուցվածքների ստեղծման գործում։ Այն նաև ցույց է տալիս, որ Հայաստանում ձևավորված գիտելիքը, փորձն ու ինժեներական ներուժը արդեն մրցունակ են համաշխարհային մակարդակում։

To corporate publishers, Alexandra Elbakyan is a cyber-pirate. But to AI developers, researchers, and startup founders in Armenia, she is the "Robin Hood of Science" who liberated human knowledge.
In 2011, Elbakyan built an automation engine that bypasses academic paywalls called Sci-Hub.
While legally a copyright breach, Elbakyan cites the UN Declaration of Human Rights: "Everyone has the right to share in scientific advancement."

Խոշոր հրատարակչությունների համար Ալեքսանդրա Էլբակյանը կիբեր-ծովահեն է: Սակայն արհեստական բանականության մշակողների, հետազոտողների և ստարտափ հիմնադիրների համար նա գիտության «Ռոբին Հուդն» է, ով ազատագրեց մարդկային գիտելիքը։
2011 թվականին Էլբակյանը ստեղծեց Sci-Hub անունը կրող ավտոմատացված համակարգը, որը շրջանցում է ակադեմիական հոդվածների վճարովի պատնեշները։
Թեև իրավական տեսանկյունից սա հեղինակային իրավունքի խախտում է, Էլբակյանը հղում է անում ՄԱԿ-ի Մարդու իրավունքների համընդհանուր հռչակագրին. «Յուրաքանչյուր ոք իրավունք ունի ազատորեն մասնակցելու գիտական առաջընթացին և օգտվելու դրա բարիքներից»։
