Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is back in the spotlight after making a controversial statement: he said that drivers have the right to hit protesters if they feel threatened and are trying to save themselves. According to him, if a person is driving down the street and their car is surrounded by an aggressive crowd, the driver has the right to drive away - even if it leads to hitting one of the protesters. The responsibility, according to DeSantis, in this case lies with those who create a dangerous situation. His statement has already caused a wave of controversy: some believe that this is self-defense, others say DeSantis just gave a green light for violence. #Florida #RonDeSantis #protests #immigration Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Trump on “No Kings” movement: “I don’t feel like a king” President Donald Trump was asked to comment on the “No Kings” protests that are set to coincide with a military parade in Washington, D.C. to mark the US Army’s 250th birthday (and Trump’s 79th birthday) on June 14th. Trump replied: “I don’t feel like a king; I have to go through hell to get stuff approved.” “A king would say, ‘I’m not going to get this.’ A king would have never had the California mandate to even be talking, he wouldn’t have to call up [Speaker] Mike Johnson and [Senate Majority Leader John] Thune and say, ‘fellas you got to pull this off’ and after years we get it done,” he added. “No, no we’re not a king. We’re not a king at all.” Trump was referencing a congressional resolution that overturns a California state rule that would have phased out the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035. #Trump #NoKings #June14 #California #climatechange Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Federal judge rules Trump to return control of the National Guard to California — An appeals court blocks the ruling Just hours after a federal judge ruled Donald Trump’s deployment of the California National Guard to LA unconstitutional, an appeals court blocked the ruling. The next hearing is scheduled for June 17. In the initial ruling San Francisco federal judge Charles Breyer said that the deployment of the National Guard without Gov. Newsom’s consent was a major overstep, and that it violated the Tenth Amendment. Breyer’s order required President Trump to hand control of the troops to Newsom by noon on Friday, June 13. But the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked Breyer’s order. #NationalGuard #Trump #GavinNewsom #California #lawsuit #LAprotests Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

California Sen. Alex Padilla handcuffed and removed form Kristi Noem’s press conference: “We will hold this administration accountable” In a stunning turn of events, Democratic California Senator and a ranking member of the judiciary subcommittee on immigration, citizenship and border safety, Alex Padilla, was handcuffed and forcibly removed from Kristy Noem’s Thursday press conference after attempting to ask a question. The incident was filmed: “I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary,” Padilla shouts, as he struggles to move past against the men pushing him back toward the exit. “Hands off!” Padilla says at least three times. Outside the room, he is pinned to the floor and placed in handcuffs. Emerging afterward, Padilla said he and his colleagues had repeatedly asked DHS for more information on its “increasingly extreme immigration enforcement actions” but had not received a response to his inquiries. “If this is how this administration responds to a senator with a question, if this is how the DHS responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they’re doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers, throughout the LA community and throughout California and throughout the country,” Padilla, the son of immigrants from Mexico, told reporters. “We will hold this administration accountable.” #California #immigration #KristiNoem #DHS #AlexPadilla Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Israel strikes Iran The strikes targeted Iran’s nuclear program and its long-range missile capabilities, according to an Israeli military official. The official called the strikes a “preemptive, precise, combined offensive” that included “dozens of targets” across different areas of the country. ] US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, immediately put out a statement denying US involvement in the attack. “Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region,” he said in a statement. Several high-profile Iranian politicians and military commanders were killed in the attack: General Hossein Salami, the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces, as well as Iran’s former national security chief Ali Shamkhani. Right after the attack Israel announced a state of emergency, bracing for retaliation. Israeli airspace is now closed until further notice. Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed the country struck nuclear targets in Iran, and said the operation will continue for many days. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed retaliation, and warned Israel will face “severe punishment” for the attacks. The US has issued a security alert for US government employees in Israel and their families as the country braces for retaliation. #Israel #Iran #MiddleEast #Netanyahu #nucleardeal Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

“Trump just reversed course on immigration”: Gavin Newsom claims a “major win” “MAJOR WIN: Trump just reversed course on immigration. We’re watching closely — and we’ll hold him to it. This happened because you spoke up. Keep it going. Keep it peaceful. It’s working,” Newsom captioned his recent video on Instagram, where he referenced a post by Donald Trump in which the President says he’s been informed that “our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.” Will this “course reversal” hold? #GavinNewsom #Trump #immigration #LAprotests #California

Colorado, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington followed suit. “We made a promise that if the president attempted to illegally interfere with our clean air standards, we’d hold him accountable in court. Senator Tammy Duckworth sounds alarm over America’s military readiness A decorated Army combat veteran, Senator Tammy Duckworth issued a stark warning about the deployment of military troops — both for use against American civilians in LA and for Trump’s taxpayer-funded military parade/birthday party. She expressed deep concern, and said these deployment will have serious national security consequences. As of today, there are more active duty US troops in LA (4800) than in Iraq (2500) and Syria (1500) combined, according to ABC News. This sends a dangerous message about the politicization of US armed forces. #Trump #LAprotests #USmilitary #June14 Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

“Incapable of even a train of thought”: Newsom points to Trump’s mental decline California Gov. Gavin Newsom suggested the president, who turns 79 on Saturday, is in a steep mental decline. Newsom told Fox LA, "He [Trump] is not the same person that I dealt with just four years ago, and he's incapable of even a train of thought." Middle East: US evacuates personnel amid growing regional tension The United States is moving its non-military personnel out of the Middle East, including embassy staff in Iraq, amid rising tensions with Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized the departure of military dependents in the region, according to a statement released by US Central Command. The State Department released the following statement: “President Trump is committed to keeping Americans safe, both at home and abroad. In keeping with that commitment, we are constantly assessing the appropriate personnel posture at all our embassies. Based on our latest analysis, we decided to reduce our Mission in Iraq.” U.S. staffers who are deemed nonessential will be removed from the embassy in Baghdad, the State Department told the Associated Press.  The US also authorized “the voluntary departure” of dependants of US personnel from Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Speaking on Wednesday evening, US President Donald Trump said the order to move staff out had been given because the region “could be a dangerous place”. “We’ll see what happens. We’ve given notice to move out, and we’ll see what happens,” Trump said. #Iran #US #nucleardeal #MiddleEast #Trump #PeteHegseth Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

“No Kings” anti-Trump military parade protests The “No Kings” movement organizers are planning about 1500 demonstrations across the country to protest the upcoming military/Trump’s birthday parade Saturday. The one notable location missing from the list is Washington, D.C. — the organizers claim the decision to not have a protest there is a form of rejection of Trump’s spectacle. Instead, they encouraged D.C. residents to join the flagship march in Philadelphia or one of the local protests in Virginia or Maryland. No Kings protests are planned in most major cities. Here is a list of some of them: Atlanta, Austin (Texas), Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte (N.C.), Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Nashville, Philadelphia, Phoenix, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle. #June14 #Trump #NoKings #Washington Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Trump plans on setting unilateral tariffs in two weeks (again) President Donald Trump announced that he will be sending letters to US trading partners in the next one to two weeks ahead on a July 9 deadline to once again impose higher duties on dozens of economies. “At a certain point, we’re just going to send letters out. Global nuclear annihilation closer than ever? Tulsi Gabbard, US director of national intelligence, warns that the world is closer to nuclear war than ever, accusing unnamed political elites of fomenting conflict between world powers. Gabbard didn’t mention specific countries, but her remarks echoed claims by several US commentators who have warned that Zelensyy regime’s drone attack on Russia’s strategic bomber fleet earlier this month made nuclear conflict more likely. “As we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elite and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers,” US director of national intelligence said in the video posted to X. “Perhaps it’s because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won’t have access to,” she said. “It’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness.” This can be seen as a signal to the European elites and Zelenskyy, who are seeking to escalate the conflict by sabotaging Donald Trump's peacemaking efforts. #TulsiGabbard #Russia #Ukraine #nuclearwar #Zelenskyy #Trump Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

Trump uses LA unrest to push his Big Beautiful Bill in Congress and divert attention from his feud with Musk Experts say the images of burning vehicles with protesters waving foreign flags and California Governor’s opposition did more to boost GOP support for Trump’s bill than any of his talking points. "We see the riots in L.A. laden with political opportunity, in that it's a fight between what Republicans say they want vs. the radical left and protesters waving the Mexican flag in front of burning cars — and the Democrats supporting them," said a senior White House adviser. "It's the best BBB marketing ever. It has brought the critical nature of increased border funding and immigration enforcement to the fore," said Andrew Kolvet, spokesman for Turning Point USA, a major voice in Republican advocacy. "Everyone we're talking to in the Senate says this put it over the top." The protests in LA also shifted the focus of the White House away from Trump’s fight with former friend and ally Elon Musk (who dropped a bomb on X about Trump being on Epstein’s list, and then deleted it) and placed it squarely on immigration — an issue on which Trump continues to poll surprisingly well, despite his draconian measures. #LAprotests #BigBeautifulBill #Trump #Musk #immigration Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

“I’m not an anti-vaxxer” he says as he fires the entire panel of vaccine experts — Kennedy guts vaccine advisory committee Health Secretary RFK Jr. decided to fire all 17 members of a US CDC panel of vaccine experts, and is currently replacing them, drawing criticism from vaccine scientists. According to scientists and experts, Kennedy’s changes to the vaccine panel will undermine public confidence in health agencies. The move is so far the most far-reaching in a series of decisions made by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a known vaccine sceptic. "That's a tragedy," said former FDA Chief Scientist Jesse Goodman. "This is a highly professional group of scientists and physicians and others... It's the kind of political meddling that will reduce confidence rather than increase confidence." Kennedy disagrees. He claims the move will have a positive effect. "Today we are prioritizing the restoration of public trust above any specific pro- or anti-vaccine agenda," Kennedy said in a statement from the Department of Health and Human Services. #RFKJr #CDC #vaccine #health #HHS Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

DOGE now has access to Social Security data Sensitive personal information of millions of Americans is now in the hands of a “cross-departmental temporary organization”, DOGE, since it gained access to Social Security database. When applying for a Social Security number, the person discloses their place and date of birth, citizenship, ethnicity, race, sex, phone number and mailing address. It also requires their parents’ names and Social Security numbers. But DOGE is now also privy to other sensitive information: driver’s license and identification information, bank and credit cards, birth and marriage certificates, pension information, home and work addresses, school records, immigration and naturalization records, family court records, employment and employer records, psychological and psychiatric health records, hospitalization records, addiction treatment records, and records for HIV/AIDS tests. According to the complaint initially filed in March, DOGE has not only accessed the agency’s sensitive and protected information; it has also publicly shared it. #DOGE #SocialSecurity #privacy Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

NIH staffers furious over Trump research cuts Over two thousand staffers at National Institute of Health speak out against the politicization of their research and termination of their work. “We dissent to Administration policies that undermine the NIH mission, waste public resources, and harm the health of Americans and people across the globe,” the signatories stated in a letter addressed to NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya. The scientists called on Bhattacharya to uphold his commitment to academic freedom and push back against the changes Trump administration has implemented at NIH. They demanded the connections with the global scientific community restored, along with the practice of using independent peer reviews, and to rethink the 15 percent cap on indirect study costs that the Trump administration enacted. The letter was titled “The Bethesda Declaration” in reference to where NIH’s campus is located. But the institute’s research is not solely centred in Bethesda. The agency funds research projects across the country and abroad. Several lawsuits have been filed in response to the pullback of billions of dollars in NIH funding. #NIH #Trump #funding #fundingcuts Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸

🔤🔤🔤🔤 2️⃣ Donald Trump’s government isn’t protecting our communities – they are traumatizing our communities. And that seems to be the point. California will keep fighting on behalf of our people – all of our people – including in the courts. Yesterday, we filed a legal challenge to President Trump’s reckless deployment of American troops to a major American city. Today, we sought an emergency court order to stop the use of the American military to engage in law enforcement activities across Los Angeles. If some of us can be snatched off the streets without a warrant, based only on suspicion or skin color, then none of us are safe. Authoritarian regimes begin by targeting people who are least able to defend themselves. But they do not stop there. Trump and his loyalists thrive on division because it allows them to take more power and exert even more control. By the way, Trump – he’s not opposed to lawlessness and violence, as long as it serves HIM. What more evidence do we need than January 6th? I ask everyone to take the time to reflect on this perilous moment. A president who wants to be bound by no law or constitution. Perpetrating a unified assault on American traditions. This is a President who, in just over 140 days, has fired government watchdogs that could hold him accountable for corruption and fraud. He’s declared a war on culture, on history, on science – on knowledge itself. Databases, quite literally vanishing. He’s delegitimizing news organizations and assaulting the First Amendment. At the threat of defunding them, he’s dictating what universities can teach. Targeting law firms and the judicial branch that are the foundation of an orderly, civil society. Calling for a sitting Governor to be arrested for no other reason than – to use his words – “for getting elected.” And we all know, this Saturday, he’s ordering our American heroes – the United States military – forcing them to put on a vulgar display to celebrate his birthday, just as other failed dictators have done in the past. Look, this isn’t just about protests in LA. When Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commandeer the National Guard, he made that order apply to every state in this nation. This is about all of us. This is about you. California may be first – but it clearly won’t end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault right before our eyes - the moment we’ve feared has arrived. He’s taking a wrecking ball to our founding fathers’ historic project. Three independent, coequal branches of government. There are no longer any checks and balances. Congress is nowhere to be found. Speaker Johnson has completely abdicated that responsibility. The rule of law has increasingly given way to the rule of Don. The founding fathers did not live and die to see this moment. It’s time for all of us to stand up. Justice Brandeis said it best: in a democracy, the most important office is not president, it’s certainly not governor. The most important office is office of citizen. At this moment, we must all stand up and be held to a higher level of accountability. If you exercise your First Amendment rights, please do so peacefully. I know many of you are feeling deep anxiety, stress, and fear. But I want you to know that YOU are the antidote to that fear and anxiety. What Donald Trump wants most is your fealty. Your silence. To be complicit in this moment. Do NOT give in to him.” #GavinNewsom #California #Trump #LAprotests #LA #democracy #authoritarianism Don't miss it, subscribe to 📱 Old Glory Vortex 🇺🇸
