KIDS MATTER TO JESUS We know that in ~ Matthew 19:14 "Let the little children come unto me and do not hinder them" RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF MINISTRY TO CHILDREN ! "Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven." And He laid His hands on them and departed from there." ~ Matthew 19:13-15 We see here the disciples were busy They wanted to get their Teacher moving onto supposedly more important things However Jesus knew the necessity of ministering to the children Alot of men might say... "Give me a child until he is seven and I'll show you the man" Children learn more by what they see then by what they hear Having them in church is excellent But raising them with a consistent Godly lifestyle is much more important We can see time is winding down We already know God stopped the Tower of Babel So don't think He won't eventually put an end to all this modern smart science More than ever before we should be raising up warriors for God Not hurting children, living confused lives Children that hear one thing but see something differently lived in front of them will struggle a lot more in their walk with God We should be mature in our own walk so we can shield them from every attack We need to raise them up in daily Bible reading, prayer, worship, & intercession Not just on Sundays Jesus was very clear about protecting them "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea." ~ Mark 9:42 It's not much different than our message about covenant We need to raise the children up teaching them to pray Training them to war in the Spirit against the actual enemy And to walk in the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" ~ Proverbs 22:6 Entering God’s kingdom requires childlike qualities like humility, simple trust, & total dependence Let go of pride & approach God with an open heart Advocate for the vulnerable Society often values skepticism, intellectual complexity, & self-reliance Faith isn't about having all the answers or proving our worth In the ancient world children had no legal rights, status, or power By welcoming them to Jesus... This challenges communities to value those who are marginalized, powerless, or often overlooked by modern culture The command to "not hinder them" Is a strong call to action for parents, mentors, and the church It urges adults to proactively nurture spiritual growth in youth Providing a safe welcoming & encouraging environment to learn about faith without placing heavy unnecessary burdens on them Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your radical welcome and Your deep love for children I lift up to You today the children of the world Asking that You lay Your hands on them, bless them, and protect them Surround them with Your grace as they grow And Lord I ask that You also give us a childlike heart Strip away our pride and our self-reliance Help us to trust You completely and simply the way a child trusts their parent So we may always hold onto the beauty and wonder of Your Kingdom In Your Name I Pray Amen
