I have told many the story of how the Holy Spirit led me to purchase Tomotley and Cotton Hall in 2020. I certainly had NO desire or skills to own, operate, manage, and maintain two former plantations. I had expressed to my family and a few friends as early as November of 2019 that I planned to semi-retire as a trial lawyer and write books. Thereafter, lawfare against me commenced in 2020 and continues to this day. The State Bar of Georgia viciously and without cause commenced lawfare against me in 2020 challenging my mental health and accusing me of unethical conduct. After 3 years of battling the State Bar of Georgia AND after establishing a record that I had committed NO ethical violations, I decided to end that aspect of lawfare against me by requesting that I be allowed to formally retire from the active practice of law. There was NO doubt in my mind that the State Bar of Georgia intended to disbar me despite the record establishing that I had committed no wrongdoing. The State Bar of Georgia agreed to allow me to retire PROVIDED that I agree that I would not seek to practice law in ANY state. The State Bar also insisted that I agree not to represent myself pro se in the future. I refused to agree to that latter request as I anticipated the time would come when I might need to represent myself - a right granted to me by the U.S. Constitution, not by the State Bar of Georgia. The State Bar acceded to my position and withdrew the no pro se demand. I retired. I had learned in the process that the State Bar of Georgia was a freemason organization and I decided as a matter of FAITH that I could no longer be yoked with an organization that allowed its membership to worship false gods. I refused to be complicit in their sin of worshiping false gods. Stripped of my by livelihood, I established an Inn (Bed and Breakfast and Wedding Venue) at Cotton Hall and thereafter began to return Tomotley to its original purpose of being a rice plantation. I did not do so to “grift” off my FAITH to make others merchandise. I did so to try to earn a living for myself and to support the incredible employees who remained loyal to me. And I wanted to share God’s incredible land at Tomotley and Cotton Hall with others. Anyone who has previously or now accuses me of being a “grifter” is a liar.
