It might be controversial, but it is true. If I’m honest with myself, there’s freedom in not wasting time debugging, going through badly written docs (or apis), dealing with unnecessary complexity. I became a CS major because I thought that was the shortest path towards solving big problems; it ended up being that I had to solve thousands of tiny local issues. Don’t you feel the same? I’ll say it: I don’t think I write better code / as fast as Opus or Codex. What takes me a week to accomplish, agents would do it in minutes. Yes, i do review the work, but the reviews are coming up with no issues, at this point I just review architectural/system design decisions Claude makes. I love it! I have so many thoughts about this, I’m writing about it, but this was the gist of the debate I had that triggered the poll.
