Flexural Design of Reinforced Concrete Beam Section: Calculating Tension and Compression Reinforcement Areas (𝗔𝘀 and 𝗔𝘀') as per Eurocode 2. _̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲_̲ Here is the brief calculation of defining requirement areas (As and As'): 𝟭. Determine the design moment, MEd, acting on the beam section (or given) 𝟮. Define the material properties( fck, fyk, Es, γc, γs, fcd, fyd, εyd, εcu3, λ, η, ...) 𝟯. Calculate the limited height of compression x_max =min(x_max1,x_max2), where x_max1 and x_max2 is defined in (Eq. 5.10a and 5.10b) and limitation due to limit the min stain of reinforcement εyd) 𝟰. Verify that As' is needed in the design or not (MRd = Cc× z). Then Calculate the area of reinf., it follows 2 cases + Case 1: Case MRd ≥ MEd (As' is not required), calculate only As= + Case 2: Case MRd of reinforcement in the tension zone ≤ MEd 𝟱.
