US Engagement with Iranian Kurds in West Asia What happened * Reports indicate the US is engaging with Iranian Kurdish groups amid tensions in West Asia. Issue raised * Kurdish groups remain a stateless ethnic group spread across Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. * Their political and military role affects regional geopolitics. Current context * Kurds previously partnered with the US against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. * Kurdish groups maintain autonomous structures in parts of Syria and Iraq. * Shifts in Syria’s political situation may alter US–Kurd relations. Why it matters * West Asian geopolitics and ethnic conflicts. * Strategic alliances and regional security dynamics. * Relevant for International Relations (GS II).

I have spent last 4 months working on something called 'UPSC Internet Report' For this, we've internally conducted online and offline surveys spanning across 50k+ aspirants online and ~1200 offline in ~12 cities. It's gonna be a great resource for: - Creators & Digital Entrepreneurs to navigate distribution on UPSC internet in age of AI - Aspirants to know new updates in the market - Ex-aspirants to build their own audience, and founders/mentors/educators looking to build a personal brands - Startups building in this space to map the market ship for building solid trust online - Coaching institutions to understand how internet is scaling Releasing within this month! For me, this was a dream project. This market badly needs organization and this report will just reflect how UPSC twitter will look in next 2-4 years. :)

1. Megamaser Discovery What happened * Astronomers using the MeerKAT telescope detected the most distant hydroxyl megamaser yet observed. Issue raised * Understanding how powerful radio-wave emissions are produced during galaxy interactions. Current context * Hydroxyl megamasers occur when hydroxyl (OH) molecules in gas clouds are excited by intense infrared radiation during galaxy collisions. * The discovered megamaser (IRAS 16399-0937) lies about 370 million light years away and appears extremely bright due to cosmic lensing. Why it matters * Helps astronomers study galaxy movement and evolution. * Radio signals can travel through dust, allowing observation of otherwise hidden cosmic events. * Relevant to space science and astrophysics (Science & Technology for UPSC).
