Personally, I enjoy reading cross-reference language books as a supplement to my main study.
When learning more than one language, I find it helpful to see how different languages structure ideas.
Sometimes I just pick up the vocab or useful phrases. Smts, I pay attention to sentence structure. It depends on what stands out.
For me, it’s not about deeply studying another language at the same time.
It’s simply a way to stay exposed to korean while seeing familiar content in a different perspective.
When you’re learning multiple languages, even just noticing vocabulary choices or small structural differences can be helpful.
I wouldn’t suggest this approach to beginners, since building a foundation should come first.
But for learners who are studying multiple languages, light cross-reading like this can be a practical and meaningful addition.
It’s not about dividing focus.
It’s about deepening understanding through comparison.

[TIPS]
If you’re learning korean and you work in finance (or you’re interested in it) try reading korean books related to your field.
And not just finance. It could be medical, law, politics, wine, cuisine, travel, sport, marketing, tech, design.. literally any field you’re into.
It doesn’t have to be heavy or academic. Even light reads or quick reads are fine. The point is exposure.
When you read within your own field, the same vocabulary and terminology will show up again and again.
Seeing those words repeatedly in context makes them way easier to remember. It feels more natural compared to memorizing random word lists.
So instead of only sticking to general textbooks, try immersing yourself in content related to your industry or interests.
It’s more relevant, more practical, and more motivating.
