Growing up in the 70s and 80s, life wasn’t perfect, but it felt more real. We played outside until dark, rode our bikes for hours, knocked on a friend’s door and came home when we were hungry.
We scraped our knees, explored, made mistakes and learned independence. We were allowed to be bored, dream, take risks and simply be kids.
We didn’t have smartphones, social media or endless screens. We had real conversations, friendships, music, imagination and memories that weren’t created for likes.
Today we have more technology and convenience than ever, yet so many seem more disconnected, anxious and exhausted.
We made life safer and easier, but somewhere along the way lost some of the freedom, community and simple happiness that made life special.
We had less… but somehow it felt like we had more.
