R to @daily_btc_lore: 6/8 - Cross-examination broke Wright. He cried multiple times -- while lamenting Bitcoin's use in child pornography and Silk Road. After testimony, witnesses said Wright crawled into his lawyer's arms and bawled. The hearing transcript ran to 239 pages of large print.

R to @daily_btc_lore: 5/8 - Kleiman's lawyers confronted Wright with a Deed he claimed was from 2012. Forensic analysis showed it contained fonts with 2015 copyright timestamps. When the lawyers raised it, Wright threw a printed copy at opposing counsel across the courtroom.
Today in Bitcoin History / @daily_btc_lore:
R to @daily_btc_lore: 4/8 - Wright's explanation for the missing Bitcoin: locked in the Tulip Trust, keys to be delivered by a bonded courier in 2020. The judge was unconvinced. Her response from the bench: "Apparently, dead men tell no tales, but they perhaps send bonded couriers."
Today in Bitcoin History / @daily_btc_lore:
R to @daily_btc_lore: 3/8 - On the stand, Wright declared that Satoshi Nakamoto was "a character" he created when writing the whitepaper -- not a pseudonym, a fictional persona. He offered no cryptographic proof. Signing a message with Satoshi's private key, the simplest verification, remained undone.
Today in Bitcoin History / @daily_btc_lore:
R to @daily_btc_lore: 2/8 - Dave Kleiman was a computer forensics expert and early Bitcoiner who died in April 2013. His brother Ira sued Wright, claiming the two mined 1.1 million BTC together from 2009-2011 and Wright stole Dave's share after his death. At 2019 prices, the claim was worth billions.
