🔥 Main Points 👇

🔹1st:-

The President must be a citizen of India, not less than 35 years of age and qualified for election as a member of the Lok Sabha.

🔹2nd:-

His term of office is five years and he is eligible for re-election.

🔹3rd:-

His removal from office is to be in accordance with procedure prescribed in Article 61 of the Constitution.

🔹4th:-

The executive power of the Union is vested in the President and is exercised by him either directly or through officers’ subordinate to him in accordance with the Constitution.

🔹5th:-

The President summons, prorogues, addresses, sends messages to Parliament and dissolves the Lok Sabha; promulgates Ordinances at any time, except when both Houses of Parliament are in session.

🔺Amendment By Special Majority 👇 🔹The majority of the provisions in the Constitution need to be amended by a special majority of the Parliament, that is, a majority of the total membership of each House and a majority of two-thirds of the members of each House present and voting. 🔹The expression ‘total membership’ means the total number of members comprising the House irrespective of fact whether there are vacancies or absentees. 🔹The provisions which can be amended by this way includes: (i) Fundamental Rights; (ii) Directive Principles of State Policy; and (iii) All other provisions which are not covered by the first and third categories.
