The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), specifically the Anti-Human Trafficking Division, arrested a 29-year-old man, "Boss" (pseudonym), on a warrant issued by the Criminal Court. He is charged with "jointly deceiving others into believing they can find jobs or arrange internships abroad, and obtaining money, property, or other benefits from the victims through such deception; jointly advertising job opportunities in violation of ministerial regulations; jointly and fraudulently entering distorted or falsified computer data, in whole or in part, into a computer system in a manner likely to cause public harm; and jointly defrauding the public." He was apprehended in a sugarcane field behind a village in Nong Saeng District, Udon Thani Province. Previously, 325 victims were deceived, with a total loss of 26 million baht. They filed complaints with the Anti-Human Trafficking Division. The victims were allegedly deceived by a company that advertised high salaries as an incentive for job seekers to apply. Job advertisements were posted on a Facebook page called "Canada Agriculture," enticing job seekers to work in Canada and Australia. Broderick pleaded guilty to the offense on July 27, 2026. In August 2024, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received an anonymous tip alleging that Broderick was harassing minors online. FBI agents obtained the contents of Broderick’s online accounts and discovered that he had sent computer-generated, obscene cartoon images depicting the sexual abuse of children to minors. United States District Chief Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock sentenced Broderick to 151 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release. During his term of imprisonment, Broderick will be required to participate in sex offender treatment and mental health treatment. Upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will be prohibited from having contact with minors.
