CRITICAL MINERALS PROCESSING SCHEME Outlay: Proposed ₹2,800 crore CAPEX support scheme to promote domestic processing of critical minerals. Plants: 2 lithium processing plants (30 kt each) + 2 nickel processing plants (50 kt each). Subsidy: 30% of eligible investment; maximum ₹500 crore (lithium) and ₹900 crore (nickel) per beneficiary. State-wise focus: Gujarat & Andhra Pradesh – Rare earths; Odisha – Nickel; Maharashtra – Lithium. Significance: Reduce import dependence; China controls ~90% of global critical mineral processing.
